Chapter 34
“Oops,” she says sweetly, a false smile on her face, Jas she tilts her head. “Guess me truths can’t stay hidden forever. It’s a shame, Bishop. All that
studying, sleepless nights in the library, and in the end, everyone knows what you really are.”

Heat floods my cheeks, as humiliation twists in my chest. The urge to scream at Her grips me, wrapping it’s hands around my throat like a vice,to tear her
smug face apart, to relish in the look of shock on her face as I pounce on her, but my throat locks up. My fists clench, and my nails bite into my palms.
But before I can speak, before I can even breathe, Lucien is at my side in an instant.
I stare at him in shock; clearly remembering him sayiin he woudn’t be at school day because of work.
He doesn’t yell, heck, he barely spares her a glance.
He just slides up beside me, slips his hand into mine, and threads our fingers together like he’s done it a thousand times before.
“Walk,” he orders quietly, and I obey him, even though rage burns in my chest.
By the time we’re alone, he turns me to face me, and says; “Trust me?”
And even though I shoudn’t, even though my hart screams at me to fight him on rust, my stupid heart makes me give in to him as I nod.
“Yes.” i whisper, and he smirks in satisfaction at my answer.
“Good girl.” He rasps, drawing me back to memories from lasty night, as a flush rises up my cheeks. He notices, and smirks. “Just wait.”
I do just that, and by lunchtime, everything has changed drastically, as everyone focus shifts from me, and to the reason this started in the first place.
“Did you hear? Roxanne’s brother just got caught overdosing.”
“I can’t believe it, first she steals, and now her brother’s a druggie?”
My head snaps toward Lucien immediately. He sits at his table in the elite cafe, his form perfectly calm, as he scrolls away on his phone like the king of the
school he is, like this barely suprises him, and I knew;
He leaked the news.
I catch a picture of Roxanne on the blog. Roxanne’s face is pale, and her hands are trembling as she stares at her phone in shock.
I slam my fork down, as I fix him a glare. “What did you do?” I hiss under my breath.
Lucien looks up lazily, with one brow arched. “I handled it.”
“Handled it?” I glare. “You ruined her. You-God, Lucien, this is exactly why I did’t want you involved. This isn’t part of the deal!”
His jaw flexes, but he doesn’t rise to my anger. Instead, he leans forward, his void low, dangerous. “She went after you. Your scholarship is what you have in this school it’s what you earned by yourself. That’s not a rumor war, scholarship. That’s survival. And you know I don’t let anyone touch what’s mine.”
The words slice through me as my heart stutters painfully in my chest with one uth echoing in my mind. “I’m not yours,” I snap like I don’t care, the tremor in my voice betrays me. “This is fake. You don’t get to defend me like hat. Everyone’s gonna think I cant handle things on my own.”
though
His lips curl into that wicked smirk, as his eyes darken, in a way that makes my stomach knot with both fury and want. He leans in close….close enough

that only I can hear his next words, as his breath brushes my ear.
“They already think you’re mine. And maybe they’re right.” His fingers brush over my hand under the table, as his hands caress, and trace my skin smoothly.
“Tell me, scholarship girl… would you like to be mine for real?”
