Chapter 90
SLOANE’S POINT OF VIEW.
Before we could walk in, a familiar voice of someone stops us.
ས 63%-
Hey! It’s the girl who almost drowned.” Ace’s playful voice breaks the tension in my nerves as he stops in front of us. He’s dressed like the stereotypical bad boy, with his midnight black hair slicked back, and chains in his Ravenscroft High pants, his leather boots shone against the morning sun, as his smirk
almost blinds me.
‘Don’t call her that,” Amara says, staring at him, as her hold tightens on me.
“Oh, it’s mother hen too. You’re gonna be hovering around all day or what?” He asks, his eyes dark, as he stares down at her. His body language as he regards
her is tense, like he’s about to snap.
“If
you call me that ever again, I swear to fuck, I will knee you so hard in your micro balls, you’re be swearing to Jupiter.” The sight of their banter almost
breaks a smile on my lips, but my broken heart doesn’t permit it.
“What are you doing here?” I asked, referring to Ace.
“Um….going to school.” He says, stating the obvious.
I know…I mean, what are you doing at this part of school at this time?. You’re a new student. Aren’t you supposed to be with the principal right now?”
“Nah….I like to break rules. You should thank me, scholarship girl,” he says, changing the topic smoothly, as he falls into step beside me. “I dragged you out
of that pool. I practically breathed life back into your lungs. I should be tagged hero of the year, don’t you think?”
I stop and glance at him.
He’s grinning, like he just told a joke, but I could see something in his eyes.
It’s the same dark look I saw earlier, and for some reason, it still unsettles me.
‘I didn’t ask you to save me.”
“Should I have rather left you to drown?” He asks, still smirking.
Rolling my eyes, I look ahead and try to focus instead on how to face Lucien.
The doors of the grand entrance fall open, and we walk through them. All of a siden, my nerves return, and my body pulls taut with tension.
Amara’s grip on my hand tightens, her presence comforting as I walk with my he high
The sight of Seraphina walking towards us has my blood pulsing with something ark, as my jaw clenches with hatred
She stops in front of me, her smile smug, as her eyes sharpen like knives, cutting to me like fucking claws
“Why are you here? My tone is emotionless, my glare hardens involuntarily, as grip tightens on Amara.
I hear you almost drowned. Honey,’ She says, her tone sugary with fake comfort and sympathy. If you wanted attention, you should have just asked. I mean, I’m sure we would have found a way to get it to you. Or wait…. is everything okay?”

Chapter 90
Her gone maintains the same false sweetness, forcing me to grit my teeth and st my spine.
For some reason, Lucien’s voice echoes in my mind
Kill them with kindness, baby’
I hate it.
Because I’m supposed to hate him.

I’m supposed to think of him and hope his fucking dick shrinks to the size of a decomposed fruit…but for some twisted reason, I still think of him.
“What do you want from me, Seraphina? My arms are folded as I fix her with a hard stare. “You know, it feels like you’re obsessed with me for some reason. We’re on the same level, we’re both scholarship students; so as far as I’m concerned, I do not have to ignore whatever you say or do.” I stare at my nails,
like she wasn’t worth any attention I could spare.
She stares at me with a dumbfounded expression, but her eyes light up with something I can barely recognize.
“If you dare bother me, I will use whatever creative ways I can think of to make your life hell in this school. Don’t forget, I can be cold as ice when I want
to.”
For a moment, she doesn’t say anything.
She just stands in front of me with a blank stare, until it stretches to a small smile.
“I guess Ravenscroft taught you well. But one truth remains: you’ll always be something he made. I doubt you can even stand on your own if it ever comes
to it.”
She says, and before I could respond, she flips her hair and walks away with a swing of her hips.
My chest tightens with that familiar feeling of hatred and anger as I watch her walk away. The thought of her one day being with the guy I’d come to love.
Of him kissing her, fucking her, whispering in her ear as he takes her…..it releases something ugly inside me, I could barely recognize myself.
“Let’s go.” I murmur and walk further in.
Suddenly, the familiar feeling of electricity in my veins returns, as the feeling of certain pair of eyes watching me makes goosebumps rise on my neck.
Looking up, it doesn’t take me long to find him.
Lucien.
He’s standing there with a calm expression, but I see his blue orbs are lit with shething dangerous…something that could consume me if he had the chance…. and for some reason, I knew he would not hold back.
Doing my best to ignore him, I walk with my head high, thinking he’d finally get bored, and look away, or mind someone else.
I’m wrong.
Lucien doesn’t just stare at me, he follows me everywhere. He’s in classes he and don’t take, he’s anywhere I am, even if it’s the fucking bathroom where he’d stand at the door, waiting till I’m done.
He doesn’t say a word, though. He only stares and acts as my fucking shadow.

My eyes twitch in frustration, as the urge to scream wells up in my throat. Lucien notices it, because he smirks, his lips twitch slightly, before he looks away.
Before I could call him out on it, Theo stopped in front of me.
“Whoa!” I yelp in shock. “Don’t sneak up on me like that.” I hiss, smacking his am.
He hisses like I smacked him hard, before showing me where I hit. “Look at my arm, Sloanie. You want to hurt me so bad?” He says, pouting with puppy dog
eyes. “Aren’t I too cute to hit?”
Lucien scoffs from beside me and says. “Oh, please. You’re a sight for sore eyes, aren’t you?”
“You’re just jelly Sloanie gives me the attention she isn’t giving you.” He hmphs ke a toddler, before taking my arm in his.
“Sloanie, I have a party tonight.” He says, handing me a small white card.
“You haven’t thrown one on ages….should I be scared that you are now?” I asked knowing how outrageous his parties get every damn time.
Something always goes down at his fucking parties. It’s like an attention magnet for drama.
“No.” He says, with a knowing smirk. “Just know you’re invited. Bring a plus one or three. The more the merrier.” He says, before running off into the throng of students.
I stare at the card with a wicked idea in mind.
A revenge party to make Lucien bleed?
I’m so fucking in!
