FAKE DATING WITH BENEFITS MY BILLIONAIRE BOSS (Ophelia Corrigan) novel Chapter 103

CHAPTER 103

MON

Jamie stayed quiet long enough for any sensible man to take the hint and leave.

I’d never claimed to be sensible.

“Can I come in?” I asked.

She pushed herself up on her elbows. Her black nightgown rode several inches higher on her thighs, and my self-control suffered a swift, humiliating death.

“You’re already halfway inside the room.”

“The well-behaved half.”

“You have a well-behaved half?”

“You haven’t complained about it yet.”

Jamie tried to hide her smile.

“Come in and close the door before you wake the kids.”

I closed it and turned the lock for good measure.

“That wasn’t an invitation to do whatever you’re thinking,” she warned.

“You don’t know what I’m thinking.”

“I know exactly what you’re thinking.”

“Then we’re thinking the same thing.”

She grabbed a pillow and threw it at me. I caught it and tossed it onto the chair.

“I came to make sure you’re okay,” I said.

“At twelve forty-three in the morning?”

“I just got off the call with Honolulu. I saw the light under your door.”

“I’m fine.”

“You can’t sleep.”

“It happens.”

“Thinking about the trip?”

“Maybe.”

I moved closer to the bed but stopped before touching her.

“Or about being my girlfriend?”

mie exhaled through her nose.

“You never give up.”

“Not when I want something.”

“I’m not a thing, Simon.”

“I know. That’s why I’m asking instead of announcing a hostile takeover.”

She looked away. Some of the teasing faded from her expression.

“Everything is happening too fast.”

“Not for me.”

“We ended an engagement that wasn’t even real. Now I’m living in your house with three children who aren’t ours, and you introduce me to a stranger as your girlfriend like we’ve been together for years. It’s all so confusing.”

I sat on the edge of the bed, leaving space between us.

“I’m not going to pressure you.”

“I’ll pretend I believe that. You pressure everyone.”

“In business. With you, I persist. There’s a difference.”

“Only in your head.”

“Probably.”

Jamie’s gaze dropped to my hands.

“What if it goes wrong?”

The question came out soft. No sarcasm. No defenses.

“It’ll hurt like hell.”

She looked up, startled.

“Was that supposed to make me feel better?”

“I’m not going to lie just to make you feel better. It could go wrong. You might discover I’m unbearable when you have to deal with me full-time.”

“I already discovered that.”

“And I might discover you intend to review contracts in bed for the next fifty years.”

“Fifty years?”

Shit.

conservative estimate.”

Her smile appeared slowly.

“You’re terrible at this.”

“I’ve never had to ask a woman to stay before.”

“Maybe you need practice.”

“I don’t want to practice with anyone else.”

The room went quiet.

I touched her ankle through the sheet.

“You don’t have to answer me tonight. Just don’t pretend there isn’t something between us.”

“I’m not pretending.”

“No?”

“No.”

She pulled back the sheet.

It was a small gesture. An open space beside her body.

An invitation.

I took off my shoes and lay beside her. Jamie turned to face me, and I traced my thumb along the delicate line of her jaw.

“I was jealous,” she admitted.

“I know.”

“Don’t ruin it.”

“I’m trying to enjoy it.”

“Chloe seems perfect.”

“Good. The kids need someone perfect.”

“And you didn’t find her attractive?”

“I did.”

Jamie’s eyes narrowed.

“Do you have a death wish?”

“You asked. But finding someone attractive and wanting them are two different things.”

id a hand around her waist and pulled her against me.

“I want you.”

I kissed her slowly. Jamie fisted my shirt and opened beneath my mouth. Her taste, her heat, the soft sound in her throat erased the rest of the day.

My hand traveled up her thigh, pushing the hem of her nightgown higher. I stopped at the curve of her hip.

“Do you want me to stop?”

“No.”

“Are you sure?”

“Simon.”

“I need to hear you say it.”

She cupped my face and held my gaze.

“I want you here. I want you to keep going.”

That was all I needed.

I kissed her again as my hand found the heat between her thighs. Jamie arched into me, smothering a moan against my mouth.

“Quiet,” I murmured. “The kids are right down the hall.”

“Then stop teasing me.”

“Impossible.”

I eased the damp fabric of her panties aside and stroked her slowly, feeling her tremble. Her fingers dug into my shoulder as I found the rhythm that made her breath catch.

“Simon…”

“I know.”

“Smug bastard.”

“You’re shaking in my hand. I have evidence.”

She bit my lip. I laughed softly, but the sound died when Jamie opened my shirt and dragged her nails. over my chest.

I pulled the nightgown over her head. For a moment, all I did was look at her.

“Don’t start,” she whispered.

ooking at me like that.”

“I can’t help it.”

I kissed her neck, moved down over her chest, and closed my mouth around one breast. Jamie pressed a hand over her lips when my tongue found her nipple.

“That,” she said through clenched teeth, “is exactly what I mean by teasing.”

“You like it.”

“Unfortunately.”

I moved lower, kissing her stomach, the curve of her hip, the inside of her thigh. She realized what I intended and gripped my hair.

“Simon, we don’t have time.”

“We have all night.”

“We have to get up early.”

“You should’ve thought of that before you spread your legs.”

“Arrogant.”

“Hot lawyer.”

I dragged my tongue through her, and whatever comeback Jamie had ready disappeared. Her body tightened, her knees pressing against my shoulders. I kept going until the tremors built, until she tugged my hair and came against my mouth, biting the pillow to keep from crying out.

I moved back up her body. Her eyes were dark, her cheeks flushed.

“Satisfied?”

“Not yet.”

She pushed me onto my back and straddled me.

/ Fuck.

Jamie opened my belt, lowered my zipper, and freed me. Her hand closed around me, slow and firm, and I had to grit my teeth.

“Who’s teasing now?”

“I’m a quick study.”

I took a condom from my wallet. She arched an eyebrow.

“You came to ask for an invitation prepared for every possible answer.”

“I’m an optimist.”

You’re shameless.”

“And you still haven’t answered my question about being my girlfriend.”

“This is the worst possible time to ask.”

“I disagree.”

Jamie rolled the condom over me, positioned herself, and sank down slowly. Every ounce of air left my lungs.

I gripped her hips.
