CHAPTER 170
– JAMIE
The closet door creaked as Simon moved closer, bracing one hand against the wood beside my head. His other hand stayed firm at my waist, holding me against him as if there were any chance in hell I wanted to leave.
There wasn’t.
“Come here,” he murmured.
Then his mouth crashed into mine.
The kiss started hot and impatient, loaded with everything that had been building between us since I walked into that apartment. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and Simon pulled me even closer, drawing a breathless sound from me against his mouth.
“You’re shaking,” he said, pulling back just far enough to speak.
“Maybe that’s your fault.”
“Maybe?”
I bit back a smile.
“Cocky.”
A low laugh rumbled against my skin before he kissed my jaw, then my neck, slowly enough to make my eyes
fall shut.
It was unfair.
Everything about that man was unfair.
His voice. His hands. The way he knew exactly when to tease me and exactly when to stop playing.
I caught his face in my hands and pulled him back to me.
“Stop smiling.”
“I’m not smiling.”
“Yes, you are.”
“Then do something about it.”
I kissed him before he could finish.
This time, there was no room for teasing. Just heat, uneven breaths, and restless hands moving over each other like no amount of touching could ever be enough.
Simon lifted me again, and my legs locked instinctively around his waist. He drove into me hard, ripping a moan from my throat.
The closet door groaned behind me.
The whole world narrowed to the space between his body and mine, the heat of skin still damp from the shower, and the way Simon fucked me hard, thrusting deep while he held me pinned against the closet. His breath came hot against my neck, broken by rough groans in my ear that sent shivers through my entire body.
The kisses never stayed soft for long before turning hungry again, messy and desperate. Simon said my name between thrusts, his voice dropping lower and rougher each time, like it was the only word he could still remember how to say.
The closet door was still giving the occasional creak when we finally stopped. I had no idea how much time had passed. I only knew my legs were shaking, my hair was stuck to my forehead, and Simon was sweating as hard as I was, his chest rising and falling fast, his face buried in my neck.
“Simon,” I whispered.
“Wait.” His voice came out rough and wrecked. “Just… give me a second.”
So I did.
He held me tighter, both arms around me, his whole body wrapped around mine like he was afraid I might disappear. I felt his breathing slow against my skin. Felt his heartbeat pounding against mine, an echo.
“Jamie,” he said at last, lifting his head.
“Hmm?”
“I love you.” His eyes found mine, and there was something in them I hadn’t seen before. It wasn’t desire. It wasn’t hunger. It was something else. Something deeper. More visceral. “So much. More than I know how to put into words. You’re the love of my life.”
