FAKA DATING WITH BENEFITS MY BILLIONAIRE BOSS
CHAPTER 94
MON
I got her out of that house like I was pulling someone from a burning building.
The engine growled. The grandmother’s house disappeared in the rearview. And I held her hand the whole way.
She didn’t protest. Didn’t pull back. Just sat there, cold fingers laced through mine, eyes locked on the window, watching the city blur past without really seeing any of it.
Forty minutes of silence. Forty minutes where I didn’t let go of her hand once.
When we got to her building, Jamie dug through her purse with shaking fingers until she found her keys We rode the elevator up without a word. She unlocked the door, flipped on the light, and I walked in right behind her, closing it with a soft click.
The apartment was quiet. Just the distant hum of the fridge and the sound of the city outside.
And still, she was beautiful.
It was almost annoying. Jamie could be crying, hair a mess, her whole world falling apart, and I’d still look at that woman and think the same damn thing.
Beautiful as hell.
And sexy without even trying.
“Why’d you do it?” My voice came out rougher than I wanted.
She wiped her face with the back of her hand. “Do what?”
“Tell them the truth.” I tilted my head, trying to understand. “You could’ve just said we broke up. Like we agreed. Done. Nobody needed to know the engagement was fake.”
She looked away.
“It would’ve been a hell of a lot easier,” I added. “So why tell them everything?”
She let out a short, humorless laugh.
“I don’t know.” She ran her fingers through her hair, messing it up even more. “I guess… I’m tired.”
“Tired of what?”
“Everything.” She walked away, heading into the living room, and I followed her with my eyes. “Of pretending. Of smiling. Of being the mature, evolved woman everyone expects me to be.” She turned to face me. “Vanessa made up this story about the kids being yours and me being your mistress. And my family believed her. No questions. No doubt. Just… believed her.”
My jaw tightened.

“Like it made any sense that I’d do something like that.” Jamie dropped her eyes for a second. “Sometimes I think they still believe I never got over Oliver. That I was stuck in that relationship for ten years and I’d do anything for him.”
“You told them about that asshole coming after you at the office.”
Jamie let out a breath through her nose.
“Of course I didn’t.”
“Jamie.”
“Simon, knowing Oliver, he didn’t tell them either.” She crossed her arms. “He probably spun some version where he came out the victim.”
“After I smashed his face in?”
“Especially after that.”
I rubbed my jaw, still pissed just thinking about it.
“If he’d told the truth, he probably would’ve filed assault charges. He didn’t because he knows he’d have to explain why he showed up at my office to stalk me, intimidate me, and cause a scene. And he also knows I could easily hit him with harassment.”
I shook my head, incredulous.
“Then you should’ve reported him.”
She went quiet.
“You should’ve told them exactly what her husband did to you.”
Her face changed. The anger faded a little, replaced by exhaustion.
“She’s about to have a baby, Simon.”
“And?”
“And I know that doesn’t erase what she did to me.” Jamie took a deep breath. “But after everything, I just didn’t feel right about hitting back like that. Even if she deserved it.”
She breathed in deep, like she was trying to push all of it out of her chest at once.
“I just want peace. And starting today, I’m not wasting any more energy trying to convince anyone who I
am.”
I watched her in silence.
Jamie rubbed her arms, restless.
“I spent way too long trying to do the right thing, even for people who never gave me that same
consideration.” She swallowed hard. “I’m done. I don’t want revenge. I don’t want a war. I just want to be left alone.”

I took a step toward her.
nd if they don’t leave you alone?”
Her eyes found mine.
“Then they’ll find out that wanting peace doesn’t incan I don’t know how to fight back.”
For a second, neither of us spoke. Then she looked away.
“You should go. The kids-”
“The kids are asleep. Mary’s there.”
“Simon-”

“Jamie.” I took another step, backing her against the dresser. “You can send the whole world away if you want. But I’m not going anywhere.”
She turned her face to the side, dodging my kiss. I didn’t push. Just rested my forehead against hers and stayed there, breathing the same air, feeling her warmth mix with mine.
“Don’t do that,” she whispered.
“Do what?”
She closed her eyes.
I tilted my head, lips brushing her ear. “I just want to stay. And if you let me, I’ll stay all night.”
She let out a sound somewhere between a laugh and a sigh. That alone was enough to loosen something in my chest.
“Oh, so you still know how to laugh.”
“Unfortunately.”
Jamie looked up at me.
“That’s my girl.”
Her expression shifted instantly.
“I’m not your girl.”
“No?” I tilted my head. “Funny. You were holding my hand for forty minutes like you were.”
“You were holding mine.”
“Details.”
She tried to hide a smile. I saw it. Of course I saw it.
“And besides,” I continued, bringing my mouth closer to her ear, “you’re forgetting our deal.”

“What deal?”
Today I’m all yours.”
She frowned.
“Simon…”
“All yours, Jamie. Completely at your disposal.” I paused. “If you want, I can be your dog.”
She stared at me for two seconds. Then she started laughing for real.
“You’re an idiot.”
“A very well-trained puppy.”
“You don’t obey anyone.”
“I obey you.”
“Liar.”
“Try giving me an order.”

Her smile faded slowly. Not because the joke got old. Because something between us had shifted.
Jamie was still leaning against the dresser, and I was still too close. Her hand was resting on my chest now, though I wasn’t sure exactly when it got there.
Her fingers curled slowly into my shirt.
“Go home,” she murmured.
“No.”
“Bad dog.”
“You need to give better orders.”
She bit the corner of her lip. My eyes dropped there immediately. Jamie noticed.
“Don’t do that.”
Do what?”
“You know.”
“I have no idea.”
“Simon.”
“Jamie.”
“You’re insufferable.”

“And you’re still holding my shirt.”
She looked down at her own hand like she was just now realizing it. But she didn’t let go. Instead, she pulled.
It was barely anything. Maybe two inches. For me, it was permission enough.
My mouth found hers. There was no gentleness this time. Jamie opened her lips against mine, and I kissed her for real, feeling her tongue meet mine as my hands closed around her waist.
She made a low sound against my mouth. That undid me.
“You have a really strange way of telling someone to leave,” I murmured.
“Shut up.”
“Now that’s an order.”
I kissed her again. She wrapped her arms around my neck, and I lifted her without effort. Jamie let out a surprised gasp and immediately locked her legs around my waist.
“Simon!”
“What?”
“Put me down.”
“You just told me to shut up. One order at a time.”
She laughed against my neck. I carried her to the couch.
“You’re insatiable.”
“And you like it.”
“Don’t get cocky.”
“Hard not to, considering the position we’re in.”
She pushed against my chest, but she was smiling. I dropped onto the couch, pulling her with me, and Jamie ended up on top of me, hair falling around her face.
