Seeing that no one believed him, Victor clicked his tongue. “Do whatever you want. I’ll buy the ingredients according to the prescription and hand them over to Medical Research for production. Whether you use it or not is up to you. Garrick, if I remember correctly, your son participated in this round of drug testing too, didn’t he?”
Garrick from Foreign Affairs fell silent. His son had indeed taken the drug, and he had been part of the third group. The first two groups had shown no issues at all and had even experienced a significant boost in physical strength. Seeing that, his son couldn’t resist and took it as well.
Since nothing had happened to the first two groups, Garrick naturally believed his son would be fine too. Deep down, he still didn’t trust Noelle and trusted Rachel far more.
In the living room, Sebastian looked at Noelle and spoke gently. “They don’t understand you, so they’re biased against you. Don’t take it to heart.”
Noelle laughed lightly. “Why would I? I actually like the way they look at me. They can’t stand me, but they can’t do anything about it.”
Sebastian shook his head with a quiet laugh. After a moment of thought, he called two boys in.
One of them had a cold expression and carried a sharp, almost lethal presence.
The other looked about 12 or 13. When he looked at Noelle, there was nervousness and curiosity in his eyes.
“H–hello, Mrs. Menzie. I’m Eden,” the younger boy said.
Eden had the gentlest temperament. He spoke slowly and sounded a little tense.
The other boy gave a curt nod, his face still cold. “Mrs. Menzie. I’m Elliot.”
“These are Eden and Elliot. Eden grew up at IBI and knows this place well. He can take you around. Elliot is the best fighter, so he’ll stay by your side for protection,” Sebastian said.
Elliot kept a stiff face and said nothing. Eden smiled obediently.
The night market in Marevia was the most lively in the evenings. As night approached, Noelle had them take her and Helen there.
Elliot and Eden followed behind them.
Helen rarely went shopping and was excited by everything she saw.
“Noelle, this looks so pretty!”
“Buy it.”
“Noelle…”
“Buy it.”
Almost anything Helen showed interest in, Noelle bought right away. Even if Helen didn’t say she wanted it and only glanced at it a

little longer, Noelle still paid without hesitation.
Before long, Elliot and Eden were carrying bags in both hands.
Elliot’s already grim expression darkened even further.

He was usually busy training and preparing to enter the main IBI unit, yet now he had been assigned to act as a bodyguard for two women. He was clearly unhappy.
Eden, on the other hand, kept smiling. Even when his hands were nearly full, his eyes remained curved with good humor.
“Give them to me. I’ll carry them,” Elliot said coldly.
“No need, Elliot. I can…” Eden started.
Without expression, Elliot took everything from Eden’s hands. Both of his own hands were now completely full.
“Do you like this?” up ahead, Noelle and Helen were still shopping.
Helen shook her head quickly. “No, Noelle. We’ve already bought so much. There’s no way to carry more.”
“We can carry it,” Noelle said.
She swiped her card, then glanced at Elliot behind her, whose hands were already overloaded.
Raising an eyebrow, she considerately hooked several bags around Elliot’s neck.
Elliot, Eden, and Helen all fell silent.
“Let’s go. Keep shopping,” Noelle said, pulling Helen along.

She admitted she was doing it partly on purpose. After all, the people at IBI looked down on her, and Elliot especially had a face that looked like the world owed him money.
Five or six shopping bags hung around Elliot’s neck, pressing faint marks into his sharp features. His lips were tightly pressed together, his jaw tense like a drawn bow, and the air around him dropped several degrees colder.
Eden cautiously glanced at his expression and whispered, “Elliot, Mrs. Menzie might just be in a good mood…”
Elliot said nothing. He only adjusted the bags that were about to slip off, his face dark as storm clouds.
Helen also started to feel uncomfortable.
“Well, well. Aren’t these Elliot and Eden? Shopping with two women now?”
