Zeph’s mouth fell open. He even forgot to scream. All that remained was boundless fear mixed with a sense of utter absurdity.
His father, Troy, was someone whose name alone could shake Marevia. Just stomping his foot could make the entire city tremble.
How could this woman dare?
How did she dare?
Even Elliot and Eden were completely stunned, staring at Noelle with wide eyes.
Mrs. Menzie…
She was insanely bold.
Even bolder than Mr. Menzie.
Helen stared at Noelle with stars in her eyes. Noelle was so cool.
She wanted to be that cool too. She memorized every word Noelle had said, determined to say the same things one day.
Everyone’s expressions shifted, yet Noelle stood calmly where she was, her face so composed it was as if she had only said something utterly ordinary.
“Vroom, vroom!”
Just then, a low rumbling sound echoed through the area.
A group of off–road vehicles sped toward them, the IBI insignia clearly visible on the front.
‘IBI is here!”
The Invictus Alliance members‘ faces changed instantly.
Zeph snapped back to his senses and shouted, “Let’s go!”
He needed to get back immediately and tell Troy everything that had happened, word for word, so he could deal with this woman properly.
Noelle didn’t stop them and let them leave. She did it out of respect for Troy.
She had already shown restraint. If Zeph hadn’t been Troy’s son, his leg would have been completely ruined.
The IBI team arrived quickly. When they saw Elliot covered in injuries, their expressions changed drastically, and they immediately escorted Noelle and the others back to headquarters.
News of the attack on Noelle and her group spread just as fast.
Sebastian rushed over. “Noey.”
His deep voice was taut with tension. The cold aura surrounding him made the IBI members along the way hold their breath and lower their heads.

When he saw Noelle standing there unharmed, with barely a wrinkle in her skirt, the tight line of his jaw finally relaxed a fraction.
His gaze locked onto her at once, scanning her quickly to make sure she truly was uninjured.
“Relax. I’m fine,” Noelle said, her eyes curving into a smile as she looked at Sebastian. “You know my abilities. How could I possibly get hurt?”
Primo and Duo looked completely unsurprised. They knew exactly how capable Noelle was. When they heard she had run into the Invictus Alliance, they had not worried at all.
The senior officials heard Noelle’s words too, but they didn’t know her true strength. All they knew was that Elliot had been badly injured, most likely while protecting her.
That alone made them upset. Of course Noelle was fine. Elliot was the one who nearly died.
Although it was a subordinate’s duty to protect their boss’s wife, even at the cost of their life, they already disliked Noelle. Now, on her very first day at IBI, such a serious incident had happened and Elliot had nearly been killed. Their resentment toward her only
grew.
Inside Medical Research, Rachel treated Elliot while Eden stood nearby, tense and worried.
“It must have been hard on you, being assigned to follow Mrs. Menzie. She’s still very young and loves to have fun. You ended up getting hurt because of it,” Rachel said while working.
“Our injuries had nothing to do with Mrs. Menzie,” Elliot said, frowning. “Mrs. Menzie saved us.”
Rachel let out a short laugh.
She assumed Elliot was just afraid of offending Noelle and was saying that out of caution.
He had been injured this badly because of Noelle, yet he claimed she saved him?
It sounded ridiculous.
Clearly, he was just saying it out loud while harboring complaints in his heart.
“You were seriously injured, but luckily, someone gave you critical emergency treatment in time and stabilized your internal organs. You’re fine for now. I’ll prescribe some medication. Just take it as directed,” Rachel continued.
As she continued examining him, Rachel noticed signs that Elliot had already been treated. A trace of surprise slipped into her
voice.
She had practiced medicine for many years and had never seen emergency treatment this precise and efficient. The placement of the needles had been exact, the force perfectly controlled. It had forcibly dragged someone back from the brink of death.
“Who treated you with needles and medication?” Rachel couldn’t help asking.
Elliot’s mind jolted.
