Chapter 199 Hand Her Over
Finally, Sebastian spoke. “The Medical Research Department in the north is short on staff. Pack up and head there.”
Rachel’s expression changed instantly.

The north bordered the desert, with sandstorms year–round. A girl sent there would have cracked skin and a dull, yellowed complexion in less than half a month.
“What?!”
Rachel stared at him in shock. Was he really sending her north?
“Mr. Menzie, the north is brutal and freezing! How can you make me go there?!” Her eyes reddened. “Is this because of Mrs. Menzie? Are you exiling me because of her?!”
“You don’t get to question my decisions.”
Sebastian lifted his eyes. His gaze was cold and sharp, like a blade. Rachel shivered all over.
“I–I wouldn’t dare!”
She lowered her head fast, nails digging into her palm until pain flared. Still, it couldn’t compare to the humiliation and fear twisting in her chest.
The north was nothing but endless sand, roaring winds, and harsh conditions. It was a place of exile that most IBI members feared.
As the most favored and promising medical officer in the Medical Research Department, she was actually being sent there!
She’d given years to the department, yet Sebastian was pushing her north just because of Noelle. He was ruthless!
Rachel’s eyes turned bloodshot as bitter resentment surged up.
“Out,” Sebastian said flatly.
“Mr. Menzie!” She still tried to argue, not willing to give up.
“Don’t make me say it again.” His voice grew colder.
Rachel bit her lip hard and turned to leave.
At the door, she ran straight into Noelle.
She shot Noelle a vicious glare.
Noelle crossed her arms and smiled brightly. “Go on. Keep staring.”
Then, she called out casually, “Honey-”
The moment Rachel heard that, her face changed completely.
“Noey.”

Sebastian turned to the doorway and looked at Noelle, his voice instantly gentle. It was nothing like how he’d just spoken to Rachel.
Rachel heard it as well. Her expression twisted. She clenched her teeth and stormed off.
Noelle chuckled and didn’t look back. She walked over and sat beside Sebastian naturally.
“You really sent her north?” she asked, tilting her head.
He set down the file, wrapped an arm around her waist, pulled her close, and said deeply, “IBI won’t tolerate those who spread rumors.”
If it weren’t for Rachel’s father giving his life to IBI after decades of service, she would’ve been kicked out long ago.
“Mr. Menzie! Mrs. Menzie!”
Primo and Duo suddenly rushed in.
“Troy, the boss of the Invictus Alliance, brought his son. He’s demanding justice. They’re already at the front gate.
“He says if we don’t hand over whoever hurt his son, he’ll flatten IBI!”
Flatten IBI? Big words.
Sebastian didn’t respond. He looked at Noelle instead.
She let out a short, irritated laugh.
Rachel’s eyes were still red as she walked down the hallway.
She suddenly saw senior officials rushing toward the gate with their teams.
She grabbed Garrick as he passed. “Garrick, what’s happening?”
“It’s Mrs. Menzie! She caused this mess!”
Garrick sounded irritated. “If she hadn’t insisted on going to the night market, none of this would’ve happened! Now the Invictus Alliance is knocking on our door!
“Hah! They attacked first and injured our people! We haven’t even gone after them yet, and they dare come here? I’m going to see what nonsense Troy plans to spit out!”
Garrick couldn’t stand Noelle and believed everything started with her. But those were two separate issues. Since the Invictus Alliance forced their way in, he fully intended to put them in their place.
Authority had to be shown.
A flicker of cruel delight flashed through Rachel’s eyes.
Good. Make it loud!
Let everyone see that Noelle is nothing but trouble!

She hurried after them, eager to watch Noelle get taken down.
At IBI’s main gate, the tension was thick enough to snap.
Troy arrived with dozens of elite fighters and Zeph, half–dead on a stretcher, blocking the entrance.

Opposite them, Garrick led IBI’s senior officials and elite squads. They stood firm with their weapons, not retreating an inch. Cold, savage energy crackled between both sides.
The air reeked of gunpowder. A major clash was seconds away.
“Troy!” Garrick stepped forward, breaking the silence. “Your son led an ambush and badly injured our people! We haven’t even settled accounts with you yet, and you dare come here demanding ‘justice‘? Do you think IBI is a pushover?!”
“Drop the act!” Troy shouted back. “My son is on a stretcher, one leg nearly destroyed! Your people did this! Hand her over today. Make her apologize, then break her own legs! Otherwise, the Invictus Alliance will fight IBI to the death!”
