After receiving her approval, a faint smile appeared on Kevin’s usually calm face. “Got it, Ms. Kain.”

Noelle stayed at the villa for two more days. Once her foot had fully recovered, she returned to Kingstowne University.

The moment she stepped onto campus, she received a call from Chris.

He told her that the military officers had been waiting for her for days. Since she was back, she should go to his office to meet them.

When Noelle pushed open the door to Chris’s office, she saw him inside with two high–ranking military officers. They were the same ones who had attended the military drill closing ceremony.

“Noelle, you are here. Please, have a seat,” Chris said warmly.

One of the officers, a stern–looking man, got straight to the point. “Noelle, let’s get straight to the point. Your physical ability, mental strength, and shooting talent during the military drill were exceptional. You are one in a million. On behalf of the military district, we officially invite you to enlist and join us. The country needs young people like you.”

The other officer spoke more gently, his tone filled with sincerity. “We know you are the top scorer on the SAT, and your academic record is outstanding. But with your talent, you would shine just as brightly in the military, achieving no less than you would in any academic field. We can offer you the best training and resources and place you directly into the special forces reserve program for focused development.”

Chris also looked at Noelle. She was a rare talent that Kingstowne University had worked hard to recruit. It would be a pity to let her go, but if she could serve the country, it would still be an honor for the school.

However, Noelle remained calm. She refused almost without hesitation. “Thank you for your recognition, but this is not the path I want to take.”

No one had expected her to turn the offer down so quickly. The stern officer frowned. “Noelle, this is a rare opportunity. So many people dream of it. You should think it over. With your ability, you could even become a top soldier in the future.”

He truly did not want her to waste such incredible talent.

The other officer added, “Noelle, with your skills, you would have a great future in the military. We will give you the best support and training. Don’t you want to serve the country and make full use of your potential?”

Noelle still shook her head. “There is more than one way to serve the country. I can contribute just as much in other fields. But I do appreciate your trust. Even if I do not join the military, I will never refuse if the country ever needs me.”

At that point, the two officers could only accept her decision.

The stern officer sighed, stood up, and patted Noelle’s shoulder firmly.

“Who?” Noelle looked at him.

Chris sighed. “Whitney. She really wants to join the military, but her family wouldn’t allow it. They even caused a scene over it.”

Whitney had wanted to enter a military academy during the SAT, but her parents had refused and forced her into the finance department at Kingstowne University. Now that she wanted to join the military, they were even more against it.

Noelle’s eyes flickered.

As Noelle stepped outside, she happened to see Whitney.
