Chapter 499 No One Will Save You
The moment she finished speaking, she flipped her wrist.
The scalding soup poured straight over Viola’s head.
“Arghhh!!!”
Viola let out a piercing scream. She curled into herself, clutching her head as she rolled on the floor.

The hot liquid ran down her hair, over her face, and neck. Her skin turned red almost instantly. Blisters began to rise right before their eyes.
Jasper’s brows finally tightened.
Noelle looked at him, her eyes full of mockery. “What? Feeling sorry for her?”
Jasper said nothing.
“If you do,” Noelle’s voice turned cold, “then tell me where my husband is. Say it, and I’ll leave right away. You won’t have to watch your precious sister get hurt.”
Jasper stayed silent for a few seconds.
Then he looked away and said to the guards beside him, “Take her back to her room. Call a doctor.”
Viola was dragged out, her screams fading down the hallway.
The living room fell quiet again.
Noelle looked at Jasper and suddenly smiled.
The smile was cold. Sharp. There was something else in it too, something hard to read.
“Jasper, you really are ruthless,” she said. “Even your own sister… You can just stand there and watch.”
Jasper didn’t respond.
“Boring,” Noelle clicked her tongue. She stood up and dusted her hands. “I’m done playing. I’m going to bed. Need to rest up.”
Since Jasper wouldn’t talk, she would keep this up. They’d see who could last longer.
She turned and walked upstairs without looking back.
Jasper watched her leave. He rubbed his forehead, then got up and headed to Viola’s room.
In Viola’s room, the doctor was treating her burns.
Her face and neck were covered in blisters. A large chunk of her hair had been cut off. She looked miserable.
She gasped from the pain, tears streaming nonstop.

The door opened. Jasper walked in.
The moment Viola saw him, she cried even harder.
She struggled to sit up, her voice hoarse. “Jasper, look what she did to me. Look at me!”
Jasper stood by the bed and looked at her for a few seconds.
“I’ll arrange another place for you,” he said. “Move out for now. Don’t face her directly.”
Viola froze.

“You want me to leave?” Her voice turned sharp. “Why should I go? She’s the outsider! I’m your sister! Why should I give her my place?”
Jasper looked at her, calm and unreadable.
“If you stay, she’ll keep hurting you,” he said. “She won’t stop.”
Viola bit her lip, tears covering her face.
She knew Jasper was right. If she stayed, Noelle would never let her go.
Today it was burns. What about tomorrow? The day after that?
But she couldn’t accept it.
Why?
Why should she give up her place for Noelle?
Jasper didn’t say anything else. He simply motioned for the guards to get ready.
Just then, a lazy voice came from outside the door.
“Well, where do you think you’re going?”
Viola’s whole body stiffened.
Noelle leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, a faint, mocking smile on her face.
She glanced at the miserable figure on the bed, then at Jasper, and spoke slowly.
“Leaving? Going where? I’m not done yet.”
Jasper turned to face her.
Noelle walked in. She pulled out a set of clothes from behind her back and tossed them onto Viola.
“Wash these by hand,” she said. “I want them clean and hanging up before tonight.”
Viola’s eyes wi
widened. Her whole body trembled. Was she treating her like a maid?
Making her do laundry?!

Noelle went on, “Tonight, when I go to sleep, you stand outside my door. Stay there. Come the second I call. Got it?”
“Noelle!” Viola finally screamed. “Don’t go too far!”
Noelle ignored her and looked at Jasper instead.
