The crowd stirred nervously, but no one dared refuse.

Jasper crouched down in front of her.

That face was so familiar, yet now so distant.

“Viola,” he said softly, like he was talking about something trivial, “didn’t I say that no one in this house is allowed to hurt her?”

Viola’s face turned white as paper.

Jasper didn’t answer.

He just gave Gunner a look.

Gunner stepped forward at once, grabbed Viola by the collar, and yanked her to her feet.

‘No!” Viola screamed, struggling wildly. Her nails scratched bloody marks across his hand. “You can’t do this to me! I’m your sister Your only sister!”

Jasper looked at her.

There was still no warmth in his eyes.
