Chapter 81 Sleep Together
Isaac said Noelle was even more skilled than he was. How could that be real?

Isaac turned toward Noelle. “Bo–Ms. Kain, this is Daniel Leighton. His father passed away from cancer. It was found early, so there was a good chance to treat it. But a holistic quack fooled him and delayed proper care. By the time they figured it out, it was too late. That’s why he despises holistic medicine.”
I see. No wonder he always says holistic medicine is just quackery.
“I feel for what you went through, but that doesn’t mean you get to insult holistic medicine,” Noelle said coldly, staring straight at him. “It’s been around for thousands of years. It’s one of Florasia’s cultural treasures, built by countless doctors who gave everything for it. It’s not a scam.”
Daniel wanted to argue, but her firm expression stopped him. He couldn’t get a word out.
Her eyes were steady and serious, making him want to trust her. When she talked about holistic medicine, there was pride in her voice, like it was part of who she was.
“And since you’re a police officer, you should rely on facts and proof, not personal grudges that lead to false accusations. If you can’t do that, you don’t deserve that uniform.”
“Yes… yes, of course.”
Pablo quickly stepped in. “Ms. Kain, don’t bother with him. I’ll take him back and straighten him out.”
Fearing Daniel would say something else to anger Sebastian and Noelle, Pablo dragged him away and called over another officer to
haul him out.
Isaac didn’t want to linger either. He needed time to think. Just knowing his alliance leader was so close to their rival was enough to stress him out. He left in a hurry.
Outside, only Noelle and a few others remained.
“Mrs. Menzie, Anthony and Eliana are still under watch,” Duo reported. “They’re stubborn and won’t admit to poisoning Madeline. What should we do?”
Noelle rolled her wrist lightly. “That’s the Jensens‘ problem. We shouldn’t step in. Yvette will wake up soon. Let her handle it herself.”
She was exhausted.
She really needed sleep.
It was best to leave the family mess to Yvette.
Sebastian owned a villa near the hospital and brought Noelle there.
“Go rest in your room for a bit. I’ll watch over Yvette,” he said gently as he guided her inside.
He then placed his hands on the wheelchair handles, ready to head out.
Noelle blinked and suddenly reached out, grabbing the edge of his coat.

Sebastian looked confused. “What’s wrong?”

Sitting on the bed, she puffed out her cheeks and looked pitiful. “I can’t sleep by myself! This place is new. It feels weird. I’ll get scared. I’ll be anxious.
“Don’t go, honey. Stay here and sleep with me, okay?”
Sebastian sighed. She wasn’t really scared–she was just making excuses.
Still, he couldn’t bring himself to say no.
He nodded. “Alright. I’ll stay in the room. Be good and get some sleep.”
“Get in bed too! Let’s sleep together!”
Noelle patted the space beside her. There was more than enough room for two.
Sebastian stared at the spot she pointed to and paused.
Sleep together?
“No. You sleep. I’ll sit here and take care of some work.”
This time, he stood his ground. No matter what she said, he wasn’t getting into bed with her.
Noelle pouted, clearly unhappy.
Hmph!
We’re married!
What’s so wrong about sleeping together?
Just wait. I’ll drag you into bed with me one day!
But she knew how Sebastian was. Pushing him too hard wouldn’t work. So she dropped it and lay down obediently. Being genuinely tired, she fell asleep quickly.
Sebastian stayed in the wheelchair, tablet computer in hand, working. When he heard her slow, steady breathing, he glanced over.
Noelle was curled up on the wide bed, lying on her side with her hands tucked under her head. Her knees were pulled in, and the silk sheets were slightly messy.
