She was propped up against the headboard, typing away at her laptop, likely handling work matters.

Christian grew anxious and was about to say something, but Theodore put a hand on his arm and shook his head.

They walked over to her bed, and a nanny brought chairs for them before quietly leaving and closing the door.

Christian looked at the bandages wrapped around her wrist. He wanted to say something comforting but was afraid of reminding her of what had happened.

After a moment's thought, he forced a smile. “Emilia, the concert tickets went on sale today and sold out instantly!”

He figured some happy news would cheer everyone up.

Emilia nodded. Looking at Christian’s face, she thought for a moment and then managed a faint smile.

She had thought they’d be lucky to sell a few; she never expected a complete sell-out.

“It’s impossible to get a ticket now!” Christian continued. “A lot of people are trying to buy from scalpers at inflated prices!”

Christian said enthusiastically, “Even though the ticket price was reasonable, the sheer volume of sales is incredible. We’ll also be selling some merchandise on the day of the show—all at the original prices, no last-minute hikes, and we’ll even have some freebies to give away.”

“If this concert goes well, it will be a huge step forward!”

Christian then said, “Right now, there’s only one obstacle in our way.”

Emilia looked at Christian, waiting for him to continue.

“And that is for you to get better,” Christian said earnestly. “Don’t hurt yourself anymore, Emilia. You’re wonderful, truly wonderful.”
