“Theodore.” She clasped the hand he was using to dry her forehead.

“Hmm?” He looked at her, puzzled.

She was looking at him, her eyes filled with an emotion he couldn't quite decipher.

“Thank you for everything these past few days,” she said.

He set the towel aside and cupped her face, just looking at her.

Overcome with emotion, he kissed her.

The temperature in the room instantly rose. He held her face, his lips lingering on hers.

“There’s no need for thanks between us,” he said after a long moment.

“Okay,” Emilia whispered, the corners of her eyes turning slightly red. She bit her lip and said nothing more, turning her face away, unable to meet his gaze.

For some reason, Theodore felt the air grow heavy and hot.

He tilted her face back toward him and kissed her again.

He held her in his arms, wanting to pull her into himself, to make her a part of him.

Her hands rested on his shoulders, not pushing him away.
