The scissors were less than two feet from Emilia’s chest when Vivienne stopped.
Vivienne’s wrist was caught in a firm grip, immobilizing her.
Everything seemed to freeze in that moment.
Nearby, Theodore was pushing through the crowd, his lips pressed into a thin line. Across the way, Tyler had risen from his wheelchair and was making his way toward them.
The crowd roared, and the bodyguards had turned and were moving in.
But at the center of it all were just two people: Emilia and Vivienne.
It was Emilia.
She held Vivienne’s wrist, her movements methodical, betraying no hint of panic.
It was as if she had anticipated this all along, ready before Vivienne even made her move.
The midday sun glinted off the sharp metal of the scissors, casting a harsh reflection.
A gentle breeze blew past, causing the floral arrangements to sway lightly.
Everyone, both online and at the scene, breathed a sigh of relief, but their outrage only grew louder.
Theodore and Tyler finally broke through the crowd and approached.
Emilia, however, was locked in a gaze with Vivienne.
Vivienne struggled, trying to move her hand.
But while Emilia wasn't exceptionally strong, her grip was enough to prevent Vivienne from using the scissors.
Surrounded by shouts and boos, Vivienne grew desperate.
In her blind rage, she had forgotten that they were surrounded by people, and that the entire event was being livestreamed.
“Let go!” Vivienne shouted.
Emilia lowered her eyes slightly but didn’t release her grip.
Vivienne suddenly burst into coffeers.
“Why did you stop me?” she sobbed.
Emilia raised an eyebrow slightly.
“I really didn’t know anything about those medical records. All I’ve ever known is that I have stomach cancer and don’t have long to live.”
Vivienne cried, “Let me go! Don’t stop me! I don’t want to go to the hospital. If you don’t believe me, I’ll just die right here and prove it with my life!”
Vivienne continued to struggle, speaking as if she had intended to stab herself, not Emilia.
