Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 664

Seeing that Tyler's expression remained unchanged, his hatred just as palpable, Vivienne decided to play the victim.

"Tyler, you know, I'm actually really glad I went to that rendezvous in her place that day," she said softly.

"Because stepping in for her is what made you feel guilty toward me. It gave me the chance to have you, even just for a little while."

She refused to believe that he wouldn't be moved by her profound, self-deprecating love—a love so deep she was willing to sacrifice everything for him.

"Tyler, I became this way step by step, all for you," Vivienne said, clutching his hand. "So, you can forgive me, right?"

But Tyler's expression was complicated.

It was a look that defied description.

He opened his mouth.

About half a minute passed in silence.

"Just because of that?" he asked with a bitter, hollow laugh.

"Yes." Vivienne nodded vigorously, her eyes brimming with feigned affection.

Tyler let out a low, dark chuckle, his grip on the wheelchair armrest so tight that his veins popped.

He laughed with pure mockery, a frantic, unhinged sound.

After laughing for a solid thirty seconds, he sneered with absolute contempt, "Vivienne, the person who praised your aesthetic taste was Emilia, not me."

"And the one who let your mistake slide was Emilia, not me."

Tyler stared her down. "That day, Emilia and I were working late at the office. We'd been up all night and had just fallen asleep when you shattered that vase outside. I woke up furious, but Emilia told me to let it go. She said you came in early and took your job seriously. She even mentioned that the floral arrangements in the office had looked noticeably better lately, that you were very responsible."

Vivienne's head spun. It was Emilia?

But it didn't matter who it was; she had just been spinning a web of lies anyway.

"None of that matters," Vivienne said frantically. "What matters is that I love you, Tyler."

"What matters is that I went to that rendezvous for her."

"What matters is that you should be with me right now!"

Tyler looked mockingly at the woman caught in her own delusional, contradictory lies.
