A choppy, unpracticed melody drifted through the room.
The sight of the tiny girl perched at the massive piano, with the imposing billionaire patiently guiding her through the notes, was breathtakingly gentle.
As the late afternoon breeze swept through the open windows.
Emilia suddenly remembered how, years ago, her own father used to sit right beside her, holding her small hands, teaching her how to play.
"Mr. Theodore, when do you think I will be as good as Miss Emilia?" Bella's sweet, innocent voice chimed.
"You just started learning, sweetheart. These things take time." Theodore's deep voice was laced with warmth and amusement as he guided her fingers. "Haste makes waste."
"Aww, man..." Bella sighed, sounding thoroughly defeated. "I just want to learn super fast so I can play duets with Miss Emilia."
"You impatient little thing," Theodore chuckled, his tone dripping with pure adoration. "Tell you what. I will have Kevin come in tomorrow morning for an extra lesson. How does that sound?"
"Just don't come crying to me when you can't wake up," he teased.
"I can wake up! I promise!" Bella declared indignantly. "Do not underestimate me, Mr. Theodore!"
Listening to their effortless, domestic banter made Emilia's chest tight with overwhelming emotion.
Her eyes filled with warm tears.
"Miss Dennis," Wilma called out gently as she stepped into the hallway, spotting Emilia.
The man and the little girl at the piano both spun around simultaneously.
"Miss Emilia!"
"Emilia."
They called out to her in unison.
Emilia smiled, gave Wilma a grateful nod, and walked over to the piano.
"Practicing your piano skills?" she asked playfully, pretending she had only just arrived.
"Yeah!" Bella beamed.
"Here, let me show you." Emilia reached out, and Theodore instantly slid down the bench to make room for her.
Emilia placed her hands over Bella's, exactly the way her father had done for her all those years ago.
Together, they played a simplified version of Flower Dance.
The beautiful, flowing melody filled the grand room. Theodore stood off to the side, his hands tucked in his pockets, gazing down at the two of them with eyes full of absolute devotion.
Emilia froze, completely thrown off guard.
But Theodore was already spinning the intricate dials, forcing her to watch.
It was a complex, multi-layered security mechanism. Whatever was inside was clearly highly classified.
Click.
The heavy steel door swung open.
Inside were towering stacks of legal documents and velvet boxes that practically screamed unimaginable wealth.
"This..." Emilia stared at him, wide-eyed.
"This is everything I own," Theodore said casually, pulling out a few thick folders and handing them to her.
Emilia glanced at the top sheets. They were deeds to luxury estates across the globe and exclusive international mining rights.
She didn't take them. Instead, she stared at him in utter bewilderment.
"Tomorrow, I am having my legal team come over," he continued smoothly. "I want you to invite any lawyers you trust as well. They will walk you through my entire portfolio, and then we are transferring all of it into joint names."
