Theodore's words hung in the air.
Emilia stood completely paralyzed.
She stared at him in disbelief.
When he mentioned bringing lawyers over, she had assumed he wanted to draft a prenuptial agreement.
Before marrying Tyler, she had signed an ironclad prenup. The Erickson Group was a massive corporate empire, and Tyler had to protect the shareholders.
Since The Glenn Group was one of Alden City's top three giants, she naturally expected Theodore to do exactly the same.
But instead, Theodore was casually offering to put every single one of his private assets into a joint trust—effectively chaining his entire net worth to her.
If they ever divorced, she would walk away with half of his multi-billion-dollar empire.
Wait, they weren't even married yet!
She had accepted his proposal, but they hadn't signed a marriage certificate or planned a wedding.
"What is wrong?" Theodore asked, noticing her stunned expression.
Emilia swallowed hard. "Theodore... I don't think this is a good idea."
He looked genuinely confused.
"These are your premarital assets," she explained gently.
"Exactly," Theodore smiled, as if stating the obvious. "And from now on, they belong to both of us."
"But what if we separate..." Emilia blurted out in a panic.
"Are we going to separate?" he asked, his gaze pinning her in place.
Staring into his dark, endlessly devoted eyes, Emilia couldn't find the words to respond.
"Sigh..."
Theodore let out a long breath. He stepped closer, wrapping his arms around her waist, and gently tilted her chin up. He pressed a tender kiss to her forehead.
"Even if something happens and we end up going our separate ways," he murmured, his voice intensely soft, "I want to know you will be taken care of. Having half my empire means you will never have to worry about surviving ever again, right?"
