Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 699

"I thought this would perfectly compliment your dress tonight," Xenia said with a smile.

"I agree," Emilia replied. She handed the bouquet to her assistant and reached back to unclasp her own necklace.

Xenia immediately took out the sapphire necklace and fastened it around Emilia's neck.

The gem rested beautifully against her skin.

"Thank you, Xenia," Emilia beamed. "It's stunning. I absolutely love it."

Xenia was about to say something else when a sudden commotion broke out, followed by a wave of hushed whispers.

"Why are they here?"

"My god, are they seriously not trying to hide it?"

"Or did they come looking for trouble?"

...

Emilia glanced over and saw the elder Ericksons had just signed the guestbook and were making their way toward her.

Everyone's eyes were instantly drawn to the scene.

The matriarch pushed Parker's wheelchair through the crowd.

Xenia frowned slightly and took a protective step forward.

Emilia gently patted Xenia's hand, signaling that she had it under control.

She hadn't restricted the guest list today.

She took a few steps forward and greeted the elderly couple with a gracious smile.

"Mr. Erickson, Madam," Emilia greeted them warmly.

"Emily," the matriarch smiled back gently.

Parker nodded and waved his hand, signaling his assistant to bring forward their gift.

"Emily, we couldn't make it to your office during the day, so we decided to come tonight. You don't blame this old man, do you?" Parker said.

Emilia had her assistant accept the gift.

"Not at all," she smiled. "I'm incredibly honored that you could attend the banquet."

As soon as Emilia finished speaking, Parker glanced at Xenia standing nearby.

Following Archie's car, a fleet of vehicles pulled up, and several elderly, silver-haired figures began stepping out.

"My god, that's the head of WW Securities."

"Arthur Lister!"

"Matriarch Quinn is here too!"

"And there's more! Wait, is that..."

"Who exactly is Emilia? Usually, only the younger generation attends these kinds of banquets, but tonight, all the old guard has shown up!"

"Exactly! These people rarely ever make public appearances anymore!"

...

Emilia looked at the incoming crowd, her eyes completely calm.

She had anticipated this.

The guests who had arrived earlier were, for the most part, connected to her personally. But this group—they were here because of her father.

She knew that her stints at The Erickson Group and in the music industry meant nothing to them. But the moment she officially stepped into the investment circle, they would undoubtedly come.
