Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 706

If he wasn't going to speak, then she would.

"I did know he was coming tonight," Emilia said, breaking the silence. "I received a text from him about half an hour ago."

No contact.

No interference.

Moving on.

That was the boundary she had explicitly set for their post-divorce relationship.

Yet, Tyler had repeatedly shattered it.

He had ambushed her on the streets, abducted her outside a kindergarten, and even tried to force himself on her.

Now, after she had blocked his number, he had used a burner phone to text her tonight.

Just surrounding the launch of Inceptus, he had harassed her three times, refusing to take no for an answer.

The wedding announcement had been set in stone for weeks.

She wasn't going to change her life just because he showed up.

No man wanted his fiancé constantly harassed by her obsessive ex-husband.

If it were anyone other than Theodore standing beside her, Tyler's relentless stalking could have ruined her new relationship!

If Tyler wanted to subject himself to public humiliation, she was more than happy to oblige.

"Emilia!" Chloe screeched.

Emilia didn't even blink. She remained perfectly composed.

"I have no interest in humiliating your family," Emilia continued coldly. "This announcement was scheduled long ago. It wasn't contingent on anyone's attendance."

She hadn't restricted the guest list, but she certainly hadn't sent the Ericksons an invitation.

Least of all Chloe.

Why on earth would she need her abuser's family's permission to move on with her life?

Emilia ignored Chloe completely.

She looked dead at Tyler and said, "I have told you repeatedly that we are finished. If you refuse to respect my boundaries, then fine, show up."

"If breaking you is the only way to keep you by my side, then so be it," he murmured.

He was completely unhinged.

"Don't marry him," Tyler pleaded, the frantic edge returning to his voice. "Just give me a little more time. Soon... very soon, I'll be able to tell you the truth, and you'll understand why I did it all."

Emilia looked at him, overwhelmed by an exhausting wave of sorrow.

What twisted secret could possibly justify the hell he had put her through?

What could excuse him turning a blind eye while their child died?

"Then tell me right now," she challenged him.

Tyler's jaw tightened. He said nothing.

Disgusted, Emilia turned on her heel and walked away.

Her friends quickly fell in step behind her, leaving the Ericksons isolated.

Because her friends had formed a protective barrier, and because Emilia had handled the situation with quiet dignity instead of screaming like Chloe, only a few people—like Alexander Donovan, who was sitting nearby—heard the chilling exchange.
