Emilia simply hit the call button.

"The best way to untangle a knot is to ask the person who tied it," Emilia said coolly. "Since whatever happened between you two involves Raymond's personal privacy, I'm not going to speak for him. I'll let him explain it to you himself."

Chloe lunged forward and viciously slapped the phone out of Emilia's hand, ending the call before it could even ring.

"Don't you dare try to sabotage my relationship with him! You have absolutely no idea what he and I went through in Cerulion!"

Chloe's chest heaved violently as she gasped for breath.

"Do you have any idea how completely sick and twisted you are?!"

Emilia frowned, staring at the hysterical woman in front of her.

"Chloe," Emilia said, completely dropping the corporate politeness. "There is zero possibility of anything romantic ever happening between Raymond and me."

"I was calling him right in front of you so he could clear the air and end this delusional paranoia."

She genuinely just wanted to resolve the drama.

Since whatever happened in Cerulion was intimately tied to Raymond's pride and personal trauma, it was his story to tell.

That was the only reason she had dialed his number.

She wanted to tell him what was happening, get his consent, and let him shut Chloe down once and for all.

"Stay the hell away from him."

Chloe leveled a psychotic glare at her.

"Don't see him!"

"Don't talk to him!"

"Don't communicate with him in any way, shape, or form!"

Before Emilia could even formulate a response, Ray rolled her eyes so hard they practically got stuck in the back of her head.
