Caleb rubbed the back of his neck, looking genuinely distressed.

Julian, who had been hovering nearby, smoothly inserted himself into the circle.

"Honestly, Caleb, this is a terrible look for you," Julian said, unimpressed.

Caleb dabbed his forehead, apologizing profusely. "I didn't realize what happened until I saw the mob at the door, and by then it was too late to cancel. All I could do was let everyone in and try to find you three in the chaos."
