The screen clearly displayed Emilia's personal banking portal.
"That's a personal account," an assistant standing behind Chloe immediately objected. "That doesn't count!"
Ray fired back instantly. "You're the ones who moved the goalposts! Dennis Capital had more than enough to cover the original threshold!"
"And you explicitly agreed that a digital balance was sufficient."
Ray's counter completely shut them down.
Chloe's expression darkened.
Before Frederick could say a word, Chloe snapped, "If we raise it to—"
Emilia cut her off with two sharp raps of her knuckles against the mahogany table.
"Raise it to what?" Emilia challenged, her tone turning icy. "Another fifty million?"
"Two hundred million? Three hundred million?"
Emilia let out a laugh completely devoid of humor. "Is this really how you do business?"
"You don't need to worry about our methods, Emilia. We're just making sure you actually belong at this table," Frederick countered coldly.
Emilia waved a hand dismissively. Ray stepped forward, a triumphant smirk on her face, and handed Emilia a sleek, sealed envelope.
Anyone present at Dennis Capital's launch party would have recognized it as the envelope Archie had hand-delivered.
Emilia unsealed it and slid out a stack of certified cashier's checks.
She had already deposited a few earlier; these were the remaining reserves.
The massive multi-million-dollar figures were printed in stark black ink.
"Is one enough?" Emilia asked softly, laying a heavy-stock check onto the table.
The projector zoomed in on the document.
The figures were undeniable.
"If not... how about two?"
Emilia laid down a second check.
She smiled, methodically sliding the next document from the envelope.
"Three?"
She laid them down like high-stakes poker cards.
The surrounding investors stared in absolute shock.
