Emilia shook her head. "It's fine. Honestly. Trust me on this."
...
A flurry of calls followed.
They handled each one with calm reassurance.
At The Erickson Group.
Chloe practically danced into the building. She was the architect behind the media bloodbath.
She was the one who had leaked the news of the engineer's departure in the early hours of the morning, setting the perfect trap to bury Emilia.
Her plan had been flawless.
She had stationed her operative outside the conference room, waiting for the exact second Emilia's signature hit the paper before storming in. She had managed to back out cleanly, leaving Emilia to burn.
Actually, the results had exceeded her wildest expectations.
That reckless fool Emilia had actually leveraged her overseas accounts and Inman Dennis's untouchable legacy assets as collateral for the loan.
And she had dragged Christian Donovan down with her.
With one brilliant move, Chloe had eradicated both of them.
"Oh, what a beautiful morning..." Chloe hummed, sashaying toward her office suite.
She pushed open her door—and stopped dead.
Waiting inside was Tyler Erickson.
"Tyler..."
Chloe stammered, the triumphant smirk melting off her face as she looked at her brother sitting in his wheelchair.
Tyler didn't say a word. He just stared at her.
Israel Jensen quietly slipped out, pulling the heavy mahogany door shut behind him. They were entirely alone.
"What did you do?" Tyler demanded, his voice dangerously low. "Speak!"
Chloe glared back, deciding she was done pretending.
"Isn't it obvious? I saw a flaw in the Aegis Dynamics project, stuck my foot in the door, and pulled out without costing our company a single dime," Chloe said.
