"Right, school." I put her down and she ran towards the bathroom.

While taking the toast out of the toaster I couldn't help but think of what I would be giving up if I was to leave my husband for James. I undoubtedly felt a connection to James but I don't know if I want to give up my life for him. One top of that, where would that leave Alex. James let me know that he wouldn't mind raising Alex as his own but I didn't plan on taking her from her own father and divorcing can have a major effect on Alex.

Taking my phone out from my pocket, I scrolled down my contacts until I found James's number.

Heather: "I'm sorry, but I can't give up my family."

I sent the message and turned my phone off. "Mommy, I'm done." She smiled, showing off her missing teeth.

I bent down to her level. "How would you like to stay home with Mommy all day?"

"Yay!" She cheered.

LUNA ALEX

"What brings you here today, Alex?"

I took a deep breath. "I'll like to get on birth control."

After Ryan had told me about the rogue problem I had started to think about our future and how this war could affect us. In the moment of him telling me that I could possibly be pregnant it didn't sound like a bad idea. But since figuring out that I am not, I wanted to take some precautions so that I could stay that way.

I had spent hours and hours on whether I should do this or not and I had finally decided that I should get on birth control. I didn't know what the outcome would be after the war and I wouldn't want to chance getting pregnant and have to raise him or her all on my own. On top of that I wanted to be married and in a stable position before a baby even crossed my mind.

Once I had decided on this I had right away made a call to my doctor to set up an appointment. I had left out the house before Ryan had woken up. I knew that if I didn't he would want to drive me and I would have no way to get to the doctor's office.

"Okay." My gynecologist asked me. "There are many different types you can get on. There's the pill, the patch, the shot, the vaginal ring."

"OH MY GOD!" She screamed. "Alex just go. We'll be fine. I've ran this place plenty of times on my own."

"Okay." I held my hands up in defeat. "I was just checking." I handed her a paper full of instructions. "Everything is on here, and if you need anything call me."

I ended the meeting between us shortly after that. She immediately left and went home. "You like my highlights," Lily asked me as we rode back home together.

"Yea." I eyed her suspiciously. Ever since she figured out that we were going to The New Elite Pack she had bought herself a whole new wardrobe, lots of make-up and now she had changed her hair color. "What's up with all the new changes?"

"Um, you know." She shrugged. "I wanted to do a whole new look... For school." She lied through her teeth.

"Right," I muttered sarcastically.
