Chapter 240 A Confrontation Erupts
She had no idea how she’d ended up wrapped around him like that.
“You okay?” Blaze asked, turning his head toward her. Her face was free of makeup but flushed a deep pink.
Sienna wanted to say she wasn’t okay at all.
Because at that moment, Blaze wasn’t exactly in a neutral state either.
Both their heartbeats were racing wildly.
His ears were bright red as he murmured, low enough for only her to hear, “Ease up a little…”
His voice was husky, intoxicating, his warm breath brushing her cheek.
Startled, Sienna relaxed her grip and unlocked her legs from around him.
Blaze stayed close, guiding her to the pool’s edge.

Sienna leaned against the side, catching her breath, and stole a glance at him. He was leaning against the edge nearby, his gaze averted.
“Splash! Splash!”
Two distinct splashes sounded from the water.
Isabelle and Diana had each delivered a sharp kick, sending the two instigators tumbling into the pool. They didn’t wait to see if the women could swim, simply tossing two life rings near them.
As it turned out, neither could swim. After choking on several mouthfuls of water, they flailed desperately for the rings.
“Enjoy the cool down!” Isabelle called out tersely.
Her face still burning, Sienna pulled herself out using the ladder. Blaze got out from the opposite side and walked away without a backward glance.
“You alright?” Isabelle asked, draping a fresh towel over Sienna’s shoulders.
The heat hadn’t left Sienna’s cheeks. She nodded silently.
The trio had lost their enthusiasm for swimming. They relocated to a shaded lounge area under a large umbrella to have some dessert and regroup.
“Blaze has some pretty good reflexes,” Isabelle remarked, nudging Sienna, who was picking at a cupcake without really eating
Sienna managed a weak smile but said nothing. That man had been very visibly affected earlier… The phantom pressure and heat low in her belly lingered stubbornly.
“When you fell, he was in the water almost before you hit the surface. The way he caught you was… impressive,” Diana added, a note of appreciation in her voice.
“You want him?” Sienna retorted, frowning slightly..

“Whoa, not even a little.” Diana shut that down quickly.

They were chatting quietly when two men in suits approached, followed closely by the two women from the pool, now wrapped in oversized towels and shivering.
“That’s them, right there!” the shorter–haired woman declared, pointing accusingly toward Isabelle’s group.
The men strode over, their posture confrontational.
Isabelle felt the hostile gaze and looked up, the other two following suit.
The man in the black suit did a noticeable double–take as he took in Isabelle’s figure, some of his bluster fading momentarily. The man in the grey suit beside him elbowed him discreetly. “Which one you want?”
“The one in the black one–piece. That’s a killer look.”
“Then I’ll take the one in the bikini…”
They exchanged a smirking glance.
“Can we help you?” Isabelle asked coolly, setting her fork down beside her plate.
Diana leaned back in her chair, crossing her legs. “What’s wrong? Didn’t get enough of a dip?” she asked, eyeing the shivering women behind the men.
Sienna stayed quiet, her mind racing for a solution. She thought about texting for backup, but who? Maddox had taken a call earlier and vanished, probably tied up with work. Blaze? Absolutely not. That man was likely off somewhere dealing with his own… physical predicament. The thought alone made her face heat up again. She dismissed the idea.
“Did you push my sister into the water?” the man in the black suit demanded, though his eyes kept drifting downward.
In unison, the three women pulled the towels from the backs of their chairs and wrapped them more securely around themselves.
