Chapter 687 Helping Daisy
Chapter 637 Helping Daisy
She was more afraid of the person outside the door than the man before her.
The moment she stepped outside, it would all end.
The man fell silent, watching her as she clutched the bedsheet tightly.
“The doctor won’t make it in time.” Her voice faltered.

He hesitated. Then he bent over her. His thumb, through the blindfold, brushed the corner of her eye. The wet heat stained his fingertip.
“Don’t peek. You don’t want to know who I am.”
She sobbed, thinking he was surely better than the man outside.
When he had held her, she felt his muscular body and gentlemanly movements.
A chill ran down her legs.
“Is this your first time?” he asked.
She bit her lip and shook her head.
“Good.” His voice softened slightly.
It was the first time she realized there were men who didn’t prefer virgins.
She heard the sound of a metal clasp unfastening. The man skipped foreplay.
Daisy turned her face away. Even though she was blindfolded and couldn’t see, she still kept her eyes shut.
He was gentle, only doing what was necessary, no unnecessary movements.
He didn’t kiss her. Even her dress was lifted just to her waist.
His hands stayed properly beneath her.
If he had gone further, he might have leaned over to study her face intently.
Daisy’s mind blurred as memories flooded back.
She recalled huddling beside trash in an alley, feeling a drunken thug drag her into darkness, screaming as no one heard.
She thought she was going to die.
By the time Joseph arrived, her white dress was already soiled.

“Are you okay?” the man asked. patting her cheek gently.
She shifted slightly, her body limp, voice weak. “I don’t know. Not really…
“Not over yet?”
He stood, wiping himself off without reproach.
She thought she caught a hint of tenderness in his voice.

She opened her eyes a little. She couldn’t see clearly, but in her mind she could picture the outline of his body.
He seemed so familiar, yet she couldn’t place his name.
When he noticed her looking, he quickly turned her over and continued.
Daisy knew she’d been drugged, but somehow it felt like the man behind her had been drugged too
“Is that enough?” he asked, his voice hoarse.
“Thank you.” Her voice was even hoarser.
He carried her to the bathroom to clean up.
He’d planned to leave right after. But he’d gotten her dress all dirty, so he had no choice but to help her take it off.
She instinctively covered herself.
“I didn’t turn on the light,” he assured her.
Through his tie, she felt an urge to tear it open and look at him.
“Don’t worry, I’m not married, don’t have a girlfriend, and I’m clean. I won’t cause you any trouble.”
Daisy heard the answer to the question she’d been about to ask.
He washed her very carefully, and then carried her back to bed.
She was so exhausted she didn’t even want to move.
He lay down behind her, pulled up the covers. After a long silence, he asked softly. “I helped you. Can you help me once
Daisy heard him
She didn’t answer, and he took her silence as consent

By the time she finally fell asleep, she thought it was already light.

The man stood by the bed in a suit and tie, gazing at her before tucking the blanket around her.
“Next time you need help, come find me here. I’ll give you anything you want.” he said quietly.
Daisy didn’t respond. After that, she sank into deep sleep.
He glanced at his watch and left the room.
She slept until four or five in the afternoon. She had a strange dream.
In the dream, she was naked, swimming freely in the ocean, with two snakes following her, playing with
her.
The feeling of freedom made the sleeping Daisy smile and even laugh out loud.
Later, she was startled awake by her own laughter.
When Daisy woke up, the rain had stopped.
It had rained all day and all night.
She dragged her heavy body up and finally took off the blindfold.
The harsh light stung her eyes.
After being covered all night, they felt raw. She’d cried them swollen.
Even the tie was still damp.
She clutched it, afraid to remember what had happened.
She was now wearing a clean nightgown. On the sofa were two new dresses, the same style as the one she’d worn last night.
Beside them was her coat, the one she’d tied to the fire door. Her red–soled heels were there too, next to a new pair of flats.
She stared at all of this.
Then she looked at the Band–Aid on her knee, from the scrape on the stairwell last night.
That man had retrieved all her belongings last night and done so much for her. How does he know?
She crawled out from under the covers. The heat was turned up high, no chill at all.
