Daisy glanced at Lynn. “I can’t do it. I don’t dare.”

“What are you afraid of!” Lynn replied in the manner Daisy had taught her. “Flirt a little, and Mr. Vale would do anything for you.”
Daisy quickly covered her mouth. “Keep your voice down!”
“That’s what you taught me. And look, it worked pretty well.” Lynn smiled.
Lucas treated Lynn well, but Daisy didn’t dare.
They weren’t married. They’d broken up. She had no legitimate claim. Besides, she had no idea if/ Anthony’s attitude would change after this month was over.
If he still didn’t want to get married, then she’d have no choice but to have the babies on her own.
If he had any expectations for these two children, he couldn’t even be bothered to send a simple “hello.”
Daisy felt like Anthony had taken over her mind.
She took a sip of juice. “Don’t mention him.”
Just thinking about him tangled her mind.
All her thoughts were consumed by that night.
After staying home for nearly half a month, she wanted to go out, but Joseph wouldn’t let her.
She anxiously waited at home, fearing someone might notice something amiss.
Anthony hadn’t returned, and she was unsure how to navigate the situation. Her parents believed she and Anthony had broken up half a month ago. She didn’t know how to explain it.
March brought warming weather and stronger sunlight, but as the snow melted, the air felt damp and cold.
She lay in bed, gazing at the faint moonlight outside, pulling the blanket tighter before quickly falling asleep.
Barely dozing off, she felt a warm body against her.
“Ivy, I’m back.” Anthony’s voice drew closer.
Daisy turned slightly. Before she could see him, he was on top of her.
“I missed you.” He kissed her, not letting her speak.

Chapter 644 Anthony Is Back
Daisy couldn’t move in his arms.
“Ivy, you’re breathing so hard.” His voice sounded in her ear.
She pushed him away, but couldn’t budge him.
She felt his hand slip into her waistband, and she shuddered, jolting awake.
Her forehead was covered in sweat. That scene felt like more than a dream.
She touched her cheeks. “Damn it, why would I dream about him?”
Even though it was just a dream, she felt incredibly ashamed.
She got up slowly, poured a glass of water, and drank it down.

She looked out the window. Dawn hadn’t broken. The month was almost up. She didn’t know when he’d be back.
Her chat history with Anthony consisted solely of two messages from last year about returning his jacket, and since then, their accounts had remained inactive.
Nothing had changed..
She had even considered that Anthony had blocked her.
She picked up her phone and stared at his profile. She wanted to be the one to text first, but didn’t dare.
A few days later, Lynn came and took Daisy away.
Adrian and Priscilla said nothing.
Daisy had asked for her company, fearing Anthony might come to her home.
She still didn’t know what kind of person he truly was. All she knew was that he was quiet, and she was uncertain about his behavior.
He’d had Samuel and Phoebe’s fingers cut off.
He might come straight to her house. She hadn’t figured out how to handle it.
With the moment approaching, her nerves intensified.
Lynn carried a bag of fresh vegetables. They faced each other in the elevator.
I’m nervous. Daisy leaned against the wall.
What are you afraid of? You’ve got two trump cards. No matter what happens, you’re a winner.”
That was true but it didn’t calm her nerves.

The elevator doors opened. Daisy stepped out. As she looked up, she saw a tall figure leaning on a suitcase, waiting quietly outside her door.
Daisy stopped short. Lynn bumped into her from behind.
“How did you…” Lynn began, then fell silent upon seeing him.
She shut her mouth, shoved the bag of vegetables into Daisy’s hands, turned, held the elevator door open and fled.
The hallway held the two of them, meeting for only the second time.
Their gazes locked intensely.
Daisy looked at him. He still angled his face, showing his good right side. In his eyes, she thought she saw a hint of nervousness.
Anthony looked away, glanced at the door, and asked, “What’s the code?”
“Six zeros,” she stammered.
He paused, unsure if he’d heard correctly.
Anthony unlocked the door, pulled his suitcase inside, took a pair of men’s slippers from the shoe cabinet, and put them on.
Then he turned, placed the cotton slippers at Daisy’s feet, and helped her change.
