*~Leon’s POV~*
My eyes fluttered open and when I spun around, I did not feel the gentle warmth or the soft smell of herbs or a warm body pressed against mine. My eyes immediately shot open to see Aurora was no longer by my side. The thought of her already leaving just made my bones shiver. I immediately stood up and opened the door.
We rushed to where I met her yesterday, trying to disappear, and what I saw there just made me want to crumble down. Lilith was standing in front of Hazel. Hazel was standing in front of Lilith, and Lilith on the floor, unconscious. Without Aurora.
I and Hazel turned to me with a broken expression.
"She’s gone. She just went a few minutes ago, and when we were trying to take her go, my mother exhausted all of her powers."
"What do you mean she’s gone? I am supposed to watch her go. I’m supposed to—oh my god."
I ran my fingers through my hair. "No way. No way she’ll leave like that. Where did she go? You’re gonna take me there."
"I’m sorry, Leon. We cannot take you there," Hazel said, while she held her mother tight. "We should be more focused on getting Lilith back open."
"I don’t care about Lilith. I care about Aurora."
Then Hazel stood up, and she almost wanted to slap me, but she held her fingers and controlled herself.
"This Lilith that you don’t care about helped Aurora, and it is in the presence of her friend Aurora that she collapsed. If you really care about Aurora, you’ll be helping Lilith right now. If you really care—" she said, her eyes glistening with fury.
I didn’t look at her.
"If you really care about Aurora, we’ll be helping her right now."
Lilith snorted. "I’m good. I’m fine."
"Is it successful? Where is Aurora?" She turned around and noticed us.
"It’s successful and she’s gone."
"Why do you guys not bother to tell me? Do I not deserve to know that my wife is leaving?"
"Your wife?"
I turned around to see Alice standing by the door. My heart almost dropped from the last word I just said.
"Aurora is your wife?" she said.
And I swallowed.
"I proposed to her yesterday."
She just ignored me and went to stand beside Hazel.
"Did you say Aurora is gone?"
"Yes. She has gone to meet the demons. And we can only hope for the best."
"Did she connect you guys to her?"
"Yes."
Lilith immediately stood up. "We should be tracking her down now."
Lilith immediately stood up and then she rushed out while we all followed her. Then she went to stand in front of the map and then cut her hand and sprinkled the blood that got out of her hand on the map.
"We use this to find her," she said, breathing.
And then we saw the blood thickening and starting to move toward a particular line.
"Oh, it’s moving," Alice said.
And Lilith turned to her. "It is showing us where Aurora is—how far Aurora is going."
"Going? I know that," I said, and Hazel turned.
"The demons must have heard her already."
And then the blood started moving toward a place that was unfamiliar. And then the blood disappeared.
Lilith jumped in fear.
"Are you still connected?" I asked.
"I’m pretty much still connected, but the thing is... wherever Aurora is has been magically protected. And it has been hidden away from maps. Where she is, there’s no map indicated. That is why the blood vanished."
"So, is there any way we can still find her?"
"Yes," she nodded. "But we’ll have to use magic to break whatever magic they have put there. And we need hints from Aurora first."
"Damn it!" I punched the ground in extreme anger. "This is bad. Real bad."
Caspian and Cayden then rushed in.
"We have a lead."
I turned toward them. "Which lead? What are you talking about?"
"A demon was left. When the demons came to attack, one of the demons did not leave, but instead is trapped here. We have trapped him down, but I’m not sure if the demon is still alive."
"Oh my god, this is interesting," I said, and then we suddenly rushed to wherever Cayden and Caspian had put the demon.
There, on the floor, it was truly a demon. Her hands were tied, and she was completely naked. I immediately covered my eyes as it was Hazel, Alice, and Lilith that entered, while we men stood outside. The door was closed.
"Is she still alive?" I could hear Hazel asking.
"Let me check." Then Alice started checking. Then Alice breathed, "Yes, she’s still alive."
