Jaguar:
Nothing about it was normal.
First, Gigi told me that Verity had been with my brother for a while in the past, which made me question everything Verity had ever told me about herself.
She had claimed she had never had a boyfriend and had never had sex.
Now, all of that seemed like a lie.
I knew Oliver, and there was no way Verity and Oliver had not done anything.
So why the fuck would she lie to me?
Why the fuck did she try to portray herself as someone better than me by judging me for sleeping around and not being a virgin?
I remembered how bad she had made me feel.
And why the fuck did she lie about never having a boyfriend? I began questioning everything at that moment.
Things got even worse when her phone was found in Ragnar’s pocket.
What’s even more fucked up was that Gigi didn’t seem to think too deeply about it.
But Theodore and I kept exchanging glances.
I knew Theodore was only worried about Gigi’s heartbreak, whereas I was consumed by a different feeling.
Why would Ragnar ask for her phone? Why?
Why had she even left her phone with him? Where had they gone after leaving the backyard last night?
"Let’s have breakfast," Gigi cheered, happily walking toward the bedroom first.
I heard her call out to Ragnar from outside the bathroom.
"If you don’t mind, I’ll return the phone to Verity," she yelled to Ragnar.
I guessed he told her it was okay because she came out smiling, like a freaking fool.
I felt so bad for her. She didn’t deserve it.
When we sat down for breakfast, I couldn’t help but stare at Gigi, who was waiting for Ragnar to join us.
Theodore and I, on the other hand, were so fucking done with him that we had already started eating.
Gigi’s smile never faded.
"So, um... Gigi, when did Ragnar arrive last night?" I asked, pretending to be busy with my pancakes.
"Um, it was late at night, and... well, he was really lovey-dovey. You know, there was this urgency about him."
As soon as she said that, my fist tightened around my fork.
That was so unlike Ragnar, unless he had gotten horny somewhere else and then come to her to take his frustration out.
Or maybe he had started something with Verity and couldn’t go through with it because of the guilt.
Maybe he came to remind himself that he had a girlfriend he needed to stay faithful to.
"Oh," I replied, nodding.
"Oh, you know what?" Gigi exclaimed, snapping her fingers excitedly.
"I’m going to tell you something, but promise me you won’t laugh," she said, pouting.
I couldn’t help but give her a broken smile. I genuinely felt bad for her.
But I wanted to ask my brother what the fuck he was doing.
Sure, Verity had the body for it, but that didn’t mean he had to destroy the pure bond he shared with innocent Gigi.
