Theodore:
Honestly, I felt incredibly guilty.
Gigi had seen me excitedly taking Jenna to her room.
I mean, of course, my relationship with Gigi was different.
I was a free bird. I could be with anyone I wanted.
But there was a connection between us.
Gigi would always ask not just Ragnar, but me and Jaguar too, before she even booked a salon appointment.
It wasn’t about asking for permission.
It was our way of staying connected, of showing that we were there for each other.
We always knew where the others were because, Goddess forbid, if anything ever happened, we’d know where to find one another.
Gigi also had a good instinct when it came to girls.
She always wanted what was best for us.
If she told us not to talk to one girl and suggested another instead, we listened.
Ironically, she usually thought the less conventionally attractive girls were a better match for us than the beautiful ones.
Sadly, she was almost always right.
They had kind hearts, and being with them never felt complicated.
But Jenna was gorgeous.
She was slim and petite, brunette, with hazel eyes, soft lips, and a naturally beautiful face.
Usually, when a girl caught my attention, I didn’t let the opportunity pass.
So while I was showing Jenna her room, I couldn’t help checking her out.
I could tell she worked out. She had a lean, toned body.
Her arms were firm, and her collarbones stood out beautifully.
But my mood had already changed.
I couldn’t bring myself to flirt with her because Gigi had seen me.
When we left her room, another problem came up. I tried texting Gigi, but she never replied.
I needed to tell her about Grandma asking Jaguar and me to hire Jenna a secretary.
I knew Gigi should’ve heard it from me before finding out on her own.
I also wanted to tell her I was going to recommend Verity for the job.
But when I walked into the kitchen and saw her talking to my brother, the whole thing slipped my mind.
Now we were all sitting around the dinner table, and I couldn’t help noticing the harsh looks Lady Lucille kept sending Gigi’s way.
Poor Gigi kept getting up to serve everyone food, even Jenna’s parents.
I didn’t like Jenna’s parents.
Her father was an Omega, a black-haired man with a thin mustache who always carried himself with slumped shoulders.
Her mother, however, was a confident woman.
Mr. and Mrs. Bundy couldn’t have been more different.
"This food is really good," Mr. Bundy commented, making Gigi smile.
"She didn’t cook it," Lady Lucille immediately pointed out.
"She doesn’t have to," Ragnar interrupted.
He remained in the head-of-the-family seat, with Gigi beside him.
I sat on his other side, while Jaguar sat beside Gigi. Jenna was seated next to me.
Lady Lucille sat across from Ragnar at the opposite head of the table, with Mr. and Mrs. Bundy seated beside her.
Luckily, no one continued the argument after that.
Knowing Ragnar and my grandmother, they could have gone back and forth for hours without stopping.
But thankfully, they both stayed quiet.
