Chapter 178
Vance was efficient, always achieving his goals. Now, only the matter between the two of them remained.
“I’ve done everything you asked,” he said. “The house has been sold. All the bags and gifts have been cashed out. The money is all yours.”
He pulled out his phone and transferred the funds. Rebecca checked the amount and nodded.
“To prove my sincerity, I’ll take you to see it. The house has already changed ownership, and the buyer is preparing for renovation.” He started the car. “After you see it, please keep your promise and go to the police station to withdraw the case.”
Rebecca’s hands were still bandaged, and the wound on her head had only just healed.
“I know pushing you now is not exactly humane,” he sighed. “But this has to be done eventually. Cathy has already fulfilled her part. Dragging it out is making her uneasy.”

Seeing his car, she rushed over with a pitiful expression.
He got out quickly. “What’s wrong? What is in the bag?”

Vance glanced back at the car. Rebecca poked her head out and grinned at him-a grin that felt creepy and led him to think she was plotting something.
Catherine didn’t see their exchange, still dabbing at her tears.
She opened the bag and added, “Can I keep these dolls? Tell Rebecca they aren’t luxury items. Let me have them. You bought them when you missed me. They’re things I like, and anyway, they’re not what
she would want.”
