Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 220

Chapter 220

Catherine paused. “You can, of course. Just enjoy yourself. There’s so much food.”

She pointed to other plates, realizing Rebecca had already made the first move on each dish. None of them looked appetizing anymore.

“Why aren’t you guys eating?” Rebecca asked innocently.

“Uh, we are,” Catherine chuckled awkwardly.

But when the next dish arrived, Rebecca once again took the first bite. Aiden tried to serve Catherine her favorite sea urchin, but Rebecca pulled the whole plate toward herself.

“This is my favorite,” she mumbled. “You guys aren’t going to fight me for it, right?”

Vance rubbed his forehead and whispered to Aiden, “Just order another one.”

The waiter came back, telling them that the sea urchins were sold out. Their business was indeed crazy. 1

Rebecca obviously couldn’t eat everything. After a few bites, she slid the plate to Vance. “I’m full. You

finish it.”

When he paused, she urged, “Don’t waste it. It’s rationed.”

Vance stared at the remaining sea urchin. There was nothing left to serve anyone else because Rebecca had carefully eaten the sweetest center out of every single piece. 1

“It’s not watermelon; the middle isn’t the sweetest part. Why did you eat the center of each one?” he

asked.

“I wanted to.” She shrugged, ready for his anger.

He stayed quiet, and she never got to use her prepared comeback. She didn’t know how the others felt about the meal, but she had enjoyed herself thoroughly.

When it was time to leave, Vance went to pay and said goodbye to his friends at the door, apologizing nonstop and promising to make it up next time.

Rebecca almost felt bad for him. Why apologize? He always paid anyway.

Once his friends were all gone, he couldn’t hold it in any longer.

“You went too far today,”

“You mean I ate all the dishes?”

“Don’t you have basic table manners?”

“You never let me come out to eat with you. How would I know your group’s table manners? Or maybe Catherine can teach me? You take her out all the time.”

He swallowed the anger rising in his throat. Maybe it was because he thought of the trip and felt guilty,” Fine. I promised to take you and Josette on a trip. We can go together. Why did you have to be so sarcastic?”

She maintained her smile. It had nothing to do with the trip. She had never planned to go with him in the first place.

“Let’s go.” He took her hand and led her out of the restaurant.

The restaurant wasn’t far from home. Vance stayed silent the whole drive.

Once they got back, Rebecca went to shower. While she was in the bathroom, Vance was on the phone.

She had no idea who he was talking to, but frankly, she didn’t care. After a while, she came out of the bathroom and comfortably lay in bed, ready to sleep.

Vance finished his shower and came over, leaning against the headboard.

“Where were you originally planning to take Josette?”

“Definitely not to the islands.”

“Just tell me. We need to book tickets now. I’ve talked to Cathy, and she is fine with wherever we decide.”
