Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 257

Chapter 257

“Let me help,” the staff member said quickly.

Once the jacket was off, Vance noticed the sapphire cufflinks. They were flawless and beautifully cut.

“These are quite something,” he said.

The staff member smiled. “Mrs. Bradford has wonderful taste. We actually wanted to license her cufflink designs, but she turned us down.”

Vance blinked. “What? Her designs?”

“Yes. Every pair you own was designed by Mrs. Bradford,” the staff member confirmed. “The sapphires match this shirt. There are two more sets with pink-purple and yellow diamonds. A customer once tried to buy the yellow pair; no chance. They were made for you. Mrs. Bradford named this set Magnolia Star River.”

Vance studied it and suddenly understood the name.

Most of his cufflinks were crafted from platinum, adorned with gemstones and diamonds, but this one was different. It featured a yellow diamond set in gold.

He recognized the craftsmanship. It was called filigree, a technique he had become familiar with recently when Catherine developed an obsession with ancient gold jewelry.

The intricate filigree work shaped the gold into a delicate five-petaled flower, encasing the golden diamond with exquisite precision. Even the back of the cufflink was adorned with a small string of tiny osmanthus flowers, adding to its charm and artistry.

“By the way,” the staff member added, “Mrs. Bradford’s cocktail dress was designed to match. Take a

look.”

The single dress she had ordered was magnolia yellow, covered in hand-stitched blossoms, each center a tiny diamond. It sparkled beautifully.

“This cocktail dress is perfect for Halloween.”

“Pack everything.”

“Sure.”

An odd discomfort settled in his chest. Once the bags were ready, the studio owner walked in.

Derek Sinclair was also a designer. Without looking around, he asked, “Is Rebecca here?”

Spotting Vance, he asked, “Who is this gentleman?”

The staff member explained quickly, “This is Mr. Bradford, here to collect the clothes.”

Derek nodded and disappeared into the back room.

Vance found the man rude and arrogant. His clothes were clothes, and his hair was wild. Vance couldn’t understand why Rebecca chose to work with a man like that.

The staff member smiled apologetically. “Mr. Sinclair gets lost in his designs. When inspiration strikes, he dives straight in so he doesn’t lose the idea.”

Vance scoffed, dissatisfied with the explanation. Without another word, he grabbed the bags and walked out, swearing never to come again or order anything from them.

He tossed the bags into the car and headed home.

Cecilia was alone in the apartment. This was her fifth day there. She had gone from nervous to quietly comfortable, always polite and staying out of the way. Except for helping with meals or cleaning, she kept to Nancy’s room, doing homework or reading.

At that moment, she was absorbed in her book when she heard the front door open.

Assuming it was Nancy, who had returned from picking up the cleaned clothes, Cecilia walked out to greet her.
