Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 413

Chapter 413

Was the report genuine or not? Who had slipped it to Catherine? Aiden only confirmed the answer to the first question.

After making discreet inquiries through various channels, he verified that Vance had indeed undergone a check-up recently, and the results matched the report exactly.

As for who had given it to Catherine… They clearly had an agenda, but that didn’t matter.

At this point, Aiden had burned every bridge. Betraying Vance was no longer optional, and if he wanted to strike out on his own, he had to stay glued to Wade.

With Rossi now firmly planted in Soliaridge, the industry would soon be dominated by Rossi Enterprises. And there was Wade, the spoiled rich kid with deep pockets.

If Wade was willing to share even a small slice, Aiden would swallow it first and ask questions later.

In this dog-eat-dog world of fame and fortune, only Wade seemed relatively naïve and easy to manipulate -like a second Vance.

“When Rossi first arrived, everyone said we would be his top choice for cooperation. Wade used to suck up to us every day, hoping to use us as a bridge. Now…” Aiden ground his teeth. “The wheel of fortune really does turn!”

His boiling rage scared Catherine. She stammered, “Then… What do we do?”

If they needed Wade’s help but he wanted nothing to do with her, what would Aiden do to her?

His eyes were ice-cold. “From now on, keep your head down. Stay out of sight and stop showing off. Your social media accounts had better have nothing to do with me.”

Her face flushed red with anger, but she didn’t dare lash out. After being yelled at, she didn’t even dare

cry anymore.

She could only stare at him with wet, resentful eyes. “So, I can’t even be seen in public anymore? What am I supposed to be?”

He squinted. “Just behave. I’ll take care of you and the baby anyway.”

“What am I?” she finally exploded. “I gave up being Mrs. Bradford to follow you, and now I have to hide in the shadows like some dirty secret?”

“Mrs. Bradford?” he snorted. “You think you were worthy of that title? You’re daydreaming. Does Vance look like someone who wants to marry you?”

She stamped her foot. “You said you’d get a divorce and marry me! Otherwise, what is our child? And what am I? One of your many mistresses?”

“That’s right. I did say I would get divorced,” he said contemptuously. “But I never said I would marry you.

If I want a wife, I only need to snap my fingers. Plenty of young girls will throw themselves at me. What makes you think I’d settle for a fading woman like you?”

“You piece of trash!” She had never suffered such humiliation from any of them.

In a fit of rage, she grabbed the fruit knife from the table and lunged at him.

But how could she be a match for Aiden? He easily twisted her wrist and snatched the knife away. The blade hovered right in front of her face. With just a little pressure, it would break the skin.

He gritted his teeth. “You’d better behave. I already warned you. If my cooperation with Wade goes wrong because of you, you won’t like what happens next. I’m not Vance. I don’t give a damn about your face.”

He pressed the knife down, and she felt a slight sting on her cheek. She froze in terror, her voice shaking. “Aren’t you afraid I’ll get rid of the baby?”

He threw his head back and laughed out loud. “Go ahead! I already have a son. If I want more kids, plenty of women are willing to do it.” 1

He tossed the knife aside and stormed out.

She touched her face. Her fingers came away with a smear of blood. She rushed to the mirror and saw a thin cut on her cheek. She had no idea whether it would leave a scar.

Staring at her disheveled reflection, she couldn’t understand how things had come to this. In a burst of fury, she swept everything off the vanity onto the floor and broke down crying.

But even worse things were still waiting for her.
