Chapter 533
Desmond’s voice cut through the air. “What nonsense are you talking about?”
“I’m not talking nonsense! Not a single word!” Willow shot back. “I told you so many times that we should just return to the troupe, but you kept saying no. You insisted on waiting until the very last moment. Said the coach couldn’t do it without us and that she would come begging.”
Desmond was livid. “Did I say it exactly like that?”
“You said even worse! Right before the show started, you were gloating, saying it would be postponed, canceled, or a total disaster! Yes, you were hoping the performance would fail just to prove how important you are!” Willow spilled everything in
one breath.
“You…” Desmond seethed.
Willow quickly hid behind Rebecca. Aaron and three other bodyguards instantly closed in.
Desmond looked helpless. “I’m not going to hit anyone. Rebecca, in your eyes, am I the kind of man who would resort to violence?”
“You’re not…” Rebecca took a deep breath. “This ends here. From now on, we’ll handle everything according to the contracts. Aaron.”
“Yes.”
“Call the lawyer. Have him take care of the remaining matters.”
“Understood.”
Desmond looked at her in horror. “What does that mean? You’re bringing a lawyer into our relationship?”
“No,” Rebecca said calmly. “Our personal relationship doesn’t need a lawyer. They’ll be handling the agreement you signed with the troupe, clause by clause.”
She had treated the troupe as a serious venture. When founding it, she had followed Gabriel’s advice and had everyone sign contracts.
She hadn’t originally planned to make Desmond sign one. It had been more of a playful gesture between them. Luckily, he had signed it, too.
With that, she walked toward the elevator under the escort of the bodyguards.
“Coach!” Willow called after her.
Rebecca paused.
“I know you might not believe me, but today, I am truly proud of our troupe and American classical dance. I feel honored to have been part of it, even briefly. When I was explaining the performance to the foreigners earlier, my heart was racing with excitement.” Willow spoke quickly.
“I know I don’t deserve to stay with the troupe anymore, but I won’t give up dancing. I hope there will be another chance for me to share the stage with you someday.”
Rebecca thought for a moment and said simply, “Keep working hard.”
Everything was governed by contracts. No matter how talented Willow was, the rules applied equally.
