The disdain in her eyes overflowed. “Save it. Stop acting so high and mighty. You just happened to meet Desmond and used his ideas to make yourself famous. You’re just better at pulling tricks.”

She glared. “Do you know that when he talks about you now, he only sees it as an embarrassing chapter he’d rather forget?”

“You’re mistaken about something,” Rebecca sighed. “Whatever happened between Desmond and me is over. No matter what you say, you can’t humiliate me or hurt me.
