Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 580

Chapter 580

Rebecca wasn’t sure whether Margaret’s stunt had any direct connection to Desmond, but the story about the dance could only have been leaked from him

She would like to hear what he had to say

“I’ve seen everything,” he said

Rebecca hummed, waiting for him to continue.

Desmond was silent for a moment. “This is my fault. I didn’t keep a close eye on Margaret.”

She didn’t respond.

Her exes seemed to enjoy apologizing to her on behalf of another woman. What kind of strange pattern had she fallen into?

“Rebecca…” His voice was low and slow over the phone, as if he were carefully considering the situation. “Turning public opinion around is simple.”

He said so, but his tone told a different story.

Rebecca’s eyes narrowed. “I’m listening.”

“I’m in Paris right now. Can we meet in person? Let’s talk face to face.”

“Just say it over the phone.”

After the breakup, she had no intention of seeing him again.

“You won’t even meet me once?”

The words sounded familiar; someone else had said something similar before. Was this a standard ex line?

“No, there is no need.”

“But… If the rumors keep spreading, it will be bad. I’m worried, so I flew all the way to Paris to help you.”

“It’s fine. Thank you.”

She hung up the phone, but a text message came through right away.

Desinond: [If I don’t step up, this online attack will only get worse. It will affect all your future performances.]

She glanced at it and didn’t reply.

Another text followed: [Have you thought about it? If you continue performing with the plagiarism label hanging over you, the angry audience might throw rotten eggs onto the stage. How will you handle that?]

He had hit the mark.

Shortly after the call, one of the troupe members messaged in the group chat, warning those who hadn’t gone home for winter break not to go to the studio.

She and another girl had just been hit with rotten eggs and tomatoes while practicing. The studio was now covered in trash.

Rebecca immediately replied: [Everyone, please don’t go to the studio for now. Enjoy your vacation and rest well. If you’re worried about getting rusty, just practice lightly at home.]

The situation was escalating rapidly.
