Darren was unfazed by the warning. “You want us to go back to class, sir?”
“Exactly!” Fabio nodded. “Be a Sonsible kid and lead your classmates back to class. Take and stop this nonsense before you r your future.”
Hazel’s face darkened with dissatisfaction. “Mr. Pearson, what do you mean by that? Are you threatening my students? Is th how the school leadership handles things? I absolutely will not tolerate it!”
Understanding her stance, Darren spoke. “Fine. We’ll head back to class right away.”
Fabio sighed with relief, about to praise him when Darren pulled out his phone. “Just let me call the police first. Then we’ll go
“Kid, are you determined to break the rules?” Fabio barked.
“Why would I, sir?” Darren said innocently. “We’ve been taught since we were fittle to call the police when we’re in trouble. That’s exactly what we’re doing. I’ve never read of any law against it. Should I call 911 right now and confirth that?”
“Do whatever you want! Explain it to the principal when he comes back!” Fabio spun around, motioning for Hazel and Rebecc to follow him to his office.
The principal was away at a meeting.
Once in his face, Fabio had them sit down. Rebecca and Hazel remained unified in their demands: review the security footage and punish whoever was responsible.
Fabio finally threw his hands up. “Alright, alright. Let’s go to the security room and pull the records.”
