Fluffy Mates Chase Their Boss on Survival Show novel Chapter 398

Chapter 398 Unexplored Sector

Scarlett’s words caught Carson off guard.

One face instantly surfaced in his mind. “That’s the illegitimate daughter of the Moore family’s head.” he murmured, almost without thinking.

He quickly stepped aside.

Layla followed, her voice hushed. “The Moore family? That’s the one right behind the Grants, isn’t it?”

A slight nod was Carson’s only reply.

Layla wasn’t too familiar with these high-society dramas. She blinked, her expression full of curiosity, silently urging him to continue.

Seeing her interest, Carson lowered his voice. “Word is, the Moore family’s head brought his illegitimate daughter home not too long ago. No one really knows why.”

It turned out that it was a smart move.

Shortly after she returned, she pushed the Moore Group past the Grant Group.

Ciara was fuming for weeks.

The fact that Scarlett was now the show’s deputy director made Carson deeply suspicious of her motives.

Businesspeople had a sharp nose for these things.

As a fellow businessperson, Carson could read between the lines of her intentions.

His gaze drifted to Scarlett, who was chatting with a smile. A flicker of concern passed through his eyes.

If Scarlett got along with Layla, she could become a powerful ally in Layla’s bid for the Grant Group.

But if she decided to make trouble, things could get complicated.

Carson’s eyes narrowed slightly, a rare sharpness hidden within.

Layla seldom saw this look on him, and it only made her more curious about Scarlett.

For now, Layla figured Scarlett was probably a schemer with a good heart.

Fireshed

Everything she’d done so far had been genuinely helpful.

As for her personal ambitions, as long as they didn’t harm their relationship, Layla was willing to see her as an ally.

Besides, from the way Scarlett acted around Stella, Layla had a hunch there was history there.

“Did Scarlett know Stella before?” Layla asked.

Carson shook his head. “No idea. Her life before the Moores is a complete blank. After she was recognized, people tried digging, but… nothing. It’s like her past was wiped clean.”

His words only fueled Layla’s interest.

Just then, Scarlett’s voice cut through. “Layla, got a minute?”

Turning with a smile, Layla jogged over. “What’s up?”

Scarlett hesitated briefly before speaking, “Planet A13 is mostly uncharted wilderness—plenty of places you haven’t seen. I did some homework before coming.”

She produced something resembling a map, covering nearly half the planet.

A red mark indicated the current camp. Another, in purple, stood out in an unexplored sector.

Layla studied it, her eyebrow quirking up. The message was clear. “You want me to check that

out?”

Scarlett nodded, a genuine smile touching her lips. “So much easier talking to someone sharp.”

Layla didn’t bask in the praise.

There was always a reason behind an offer like this.

Tucking the map away, she got straight to the point. “What’s there?”

Scarlett glanced toward Oliver, who stood some distance away. “You should ask Prince Oliver about that.”

As if on cue, Oliver turned and met Layla’s gaze, offering a faint smile.

A tiny thrill shot through Layla, but understanding quickly followed.
