Forced To Be The Mafia King's Bride (by Oma Green) novel Chapter 211

Dante's POV

"What's it going to be, Roberto?"

Roberto set his cigar down. "I'm in."

Something shifted inside me, but I kept my face blank.

"But this can never get out," Roberto said, his voice hard. "If word spreads that I sold out a client..."

"It won't."

"Everyone says that in negotiations until it does." Roberto leaned forward. "I've built my reputation on discretion. One rumor that I betrayed Lorenzo Giovanni, and I'm done. No one will do business with me again."

"Lorenzo Giovanni will be dead," I countered. "Dead men don't talk. Dead men don't spread rumors."

"And his men? His associates?"

"Will think it was a rival hit. An ambush. Bad luck." I met his eyes. "There's no trail back to you, Roberto. Lorenzo's already dead to the world. We're just making it permanent."

Cesare stepped closer. "Our families are allies now. That means something. You're protected."

Roberto studied us both, then slowly nodded. "Alright. But we do this clean."

Blood rushed through my veins. Thursday, east docks. Lorenzo Giovanni would walk right into my trap.

The anticipation was almost painful. Every nerve in my body was alive. I wanted to smile but kept it locked down.

Very soon.

"When and where?" I asked.

He pulled out a map and spread it on the table. "Thursday. East docks. Warehouse district. He's picking up the shipment at midnight."

I looked at the location, already planning the ambush in my head. The narrow access roads. The cover points. How many men I'd need.

"We can position here." Roberto's fingers traced along the route. "He'll have to come through this entrance. You ambush him before he reaches the warehouse."

"We'll be ready."

"Security isn't tight that night either," Roberto added. "I told Lorenzo to keep it minimal. I wanted everyone to relax. Less suspicious that way."

Perfect.

Roberto nodded. "Then we have a deal." He extended his hand.

I shook it firmly.

"Now that you've gotten what you wanted," Roberto stretched his hand out, "can we go and enjoy my son's party?"

I took his hand, shaking it firmly. "I can now. Right after I find my wife."

Roberto laughed, a genuine sound. "Perfect timing then. Love is in the air tonight, so take advantage of it."

"I will try to."

"You probably noticed security is light tonight." Roberto gestured around the estate. "I didn't want armed guards everywhere, scaring off my son's friends. Let them enjoy their youth while they still have it. The blood and bullets come soon enough."

I nodded. I had noticed. Fewer checkpoints. Fewer men patrolling. It made sense for a party like this.

"Go find her," Roberto said, clapping me on the shoulder. "Enjoy the night. Thursday will come soon enough."

---

I moved through the crowd, scanning faces. The music pounded, people laughed and danced, but I barely registered any of it.

Five fucking years of hunting Lorenzo Giovanni. I'd almost had him once. Then he escaped and faked his death like the coward he was.

Now I was finally one step closer to putting a bullet in his head and giving my wife and daughter the justice they deserved.

Lorenzo wasn't going to see me coming. Hell itself wasn't enough to stop me from finding him. I'd tear through every obstacle, every barrier, every person standing between us.

But for tonight, I'd put that aside and focus on my beautiful wife.
