Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 186

Sienna's POV

It was a quiet morning. The only sounds heard were the chirping of birds outside the window and the gentle breeze that passed through the curtains with half its length. Standing near the sink, I gazed at my reflection in the kitchen mirror that had a slight fog. Although I experienced slight puffiness under my eyes, the morning was relatively lighter.

I remember Liam's eyes and the warmth of his touch that Mrs. was able to appreciate last night. Wilson's soft laughter, and Noah's noakes in his sleep, even when he dreams. All of it seemed like fragments of a life that had been lost, slowly being reconstructed.

Footage echoed out of the living room. As I turned, I observed Liam entering the kitchen wearing a gray t-shirt and casual pants, with his hair bunted up. His hand held a slice of toast. "Morning," his voice beats with sound, as though he was sleeping heavily.

I smiled softly. “Morning. You're up earlier than usual."

"Understood, not at all," he replied before placing the plate on the table. "I didn't want you to handle everything alone."

The jam jar was my go-to, and I said "I'm okay with that," without any hesitation.

Despite my efforts to stop, Liam had already taken it from me. He said, "Let me and proceeded to spread strawberry jam on the toast with complete concentration.”

Across from the table, I observed him smiling without conscious notice. He had a calm, effortless and genuine manner in his movements.

He asked, "Are you able to sleep well?" without looking up.

I responded with a final response, "Yield did Noah too."

Liam nodded and stated, "He didn't regain consciousness last night. His usual state of relaxation is when he goes to sleep in a new place.”

"I saw some neatly arranged cups on the table yesterday and thought to myself, He was happy yesterday. It's been a while since we had our dinner like that.”

I felt the same way when Liam stopped mid-motion, and then looked at me in disbelief.

We both remained silent. There was a certain quiet understanding between us that what happened last night could be considered more than just family reunions, but potentially the beginning of something new.

I lowered my gaze and asked, "Do you believe Mom rested peacefully throughout the night?"

Liam exhibited a faint smile. "I'm sure she had one. That moment has been a long-standing expectation for her.”

I nodded and proceeded to pour egg batter onto a hot pan on the stove. Thank goodness. The sizzle filled the air. Liam retrieved milk from the fridge and poured it into glasses. Our shared routine had been established for years, but this morning was the first time we'd done it again.

"It's a nice morning," he said out of nowhere.

My gaze widened, I inquired, "What kind of thing?"

The quiet type, he replied with an unassuming smile. "I feel at home with a little voice in his mouth.”

But that word made me freeze for a second. Home. A simple but meaningful word.

Noah succeeded in succeeding. He gazed at his work with a sense of pride. "Daddy, look! I did it!"

The champ's hair was ruffled by Liam, and Noah'S smile shone out. "Good job!"

I gazed at them with a sense of warmth. I'd never witnessed someone so genuine, so loving, without the baggage of old wounds or loneliness. Every bruise appeared to be slowly but surely fading.

In between toast bites, Noah suddenly muttered "Mommy, when will Grandma be back?"

After he asked, Liam and I glanced at each other. With a soft smile, I said, "Will you see me this weekend? Grandma would be delighted to have you play again.”

With a celebratory response, he said "Yay!"

Liam slowly drank his coffee. "He's getting close to Mom at a quick pace."

I softly replied, "Oh, that's how it is."

For a brief moment, Liam's gaze caught my attention. His eyes shook me to my core. He said, "It's like his mother."

I squirmed, pretending to focus on cutting my toast while my cheeks were warming. "You're talking too much for this morning," I whispered, clutching a smile that almost disappeared. It was just the start of an adventure.

Liam gave a mild chuckle. "I'm not sure if I want to be done with this sentence now because it will take up most of my time."
