Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 222

Sienna’s POV

I grabbed it. “What is this?”

“A summons!” he replied with pride, his eyes gleaming.” For Mommy and Daddy!”

I carefully unfolded the envelope. Within it lay a green card inviting me to the class performance happening this Saturday at 10 a.m.

There was a little illustration of kids singing and dancing in the corner of the card.

My soul felt a glow.

“Wow Noah will be performing?” I said, grinning broadly at him.

Noah nodded eagerly. “Yes! Noah is a tree! A mighty tree!

I have a line to deliver as well!”

I nearly exploded with laughter. “A tree? What do you do?”

He rose erect, raising his arms outward like limbs.

He announced in an assured tone,

“I am a tree! I shield the planet!”

A few parents close by glanced over. Grinned at his small act.I pressed a kiss to his cheek. “Mommy is very proud.”

Noah kicked his legs with enthusiasm. “That’s the reason Noah’s eager for Mommy and Daddy to arrive!”

That phrase caused my heart to feel warm and quiver slightly.

Because regardless of what happened months Noah frequently noticed Liam arriving home late and even I doubted whether the three of us could ever become whole again. Now we were reunited as a family. Noah sensed it.

I grasped his hand. “Mommy and Daddy will surely come.

We will absolutely be there.”

Noah grinned widely. “Yay!”

We headed to the parking area as we heard Noah’s accounts of his day. He mentioned that he sketched a sun befriended a new boy called Kevin and ate all his lunch without leaving any food uneaten.

“Since Noah needs to be strong he can develop like Daddy.

At times the only thing I could manage was to laugh.

By the time we got to the car Noah was clutching the invitation firmly as though it were a gem.

“Mom make sure to keep this at home alright? Don’t misplace it,” he said.

Noah grabbed my focus again with his raised voice.

Mommy did you listen to me?”

“Hm? What is it, sweetheart?”

He gestured toward a structure beside the street. “That’s my bakery! The place, with the chocolate bread. Can we get some afterwards?”

| laughed. “You just ate lunch. You can have some again this afternoon once you’ve taken a shower at home.”

“Alright!” he replied swiftly as though it were a bargain, on earth.

The car continued driving. Noah started sharing small details from school, how his teacher got new star stickers, how his seatmate dropped his pencil case and everything spilled out how they rehearsed for the show but his classmates couldn’t keep in a line. Things that seemed trivial to me but meant everything to him.

“I want Mommy to feel proud of me,” he said quietly all ofa sudden.

I paused briefly. “Noah Mommy is already so proud. Truly proud of you.”

“But I haven’t mastered singing yet,” he remarked with a sigh.

“You’re making an effort. That matters more, than anything,” I glanced back to grasp his hand briefly, gently caressing the back of it.
