Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 233

Sienna’s POV

I grinned while letting out a silent cry. “So never release me.”

“I won’t,” he replied, holding me tighter, in his embrace.

At last my thoughts settled as if the entire world halted solely to allow us to have faith in one another.

As the discussion concluded the atmosphere in the room became gentler and more serene. Liam reclined on the couch massaging his face. The fatigue evident in his eyes was clearer now. I understood just how taxing the day must have been, for him despite his rare complaints.

He gazed at me giving a smile.

“Sienna,” he murmured, his tone low and a bit rough. “I’m really exhausted today. Shall we head to bed?”

I looked at him briefly before nodding. “Yeah that seems like a plan.”

Liam extended his hand lightly touching the back of mine before standing up. His motions were less swift, than more sluggish weighed down. He was genuinely worn out.

Somehow witnessing that softened my heart, filling me with a desire to care for him above all else.

“In that case ‘ll head off to get the bedroom ready.” I said while rising.Liam gave a nod. “‘ll step away to change briefly.”

I headed to my room. Softly eased the door open. The nightlight spread a radiance over the tidily organized space. Somehow that sight slightly unsettled me. We had shared a bed in his room that night. Now I felt uncertain if he intended to do that again yet my pulse was racing uncontrollably.

I smoothed out the sheets ensuring the bed felt cozy.! also spritzed some spray on the pillows, a small ritual of mine to aid sleep. Once done I paused briefly gazing at the bed as I worked to calm my breathing.

Why was I nervous like a teenager again?

Liam’s footsteps gently resonated down the corridor. The known noise was soothing but also caused me to feel uneasy in a peculiar manner.

Moments later, there were two gentle knocks on the door.

“Sienna?” Liam shouted from the side.

I pushed the door.

He stood there dressed in a shirt and pajama bottoms, his hair a bit wet as though he had recently washed his face.

A gentle smile formed on his lips upon seeing me a smile that made me feel warmer than anything ever could.

“Are you prepared?” he inquired.

I nodded. “Sure. If you wish to stay overnight please do.I’ve ensured it’s cozy.”

Liam glanced at me silently, his eyes so tender l almost melted on the spot. “Thank you,” he murmured softly.”

Let’s rest.”

I stepped back into the room, with Liam trailing quietly shutting the door after us.

As the illumination faded I sensed my pulse accelerate slightly.

This evening we planned to go to bed once more.

And surprisingly I wasn’t afraid.

My chest was gradually filled with joy.

I settled down initially, draping the blanket over the half of my body. The room seemed cozy. It wasn’t due to the warmth. It was the aura of Liam. He shifted the pillows before sliding over to the opposite side of the bed.

I observed each motion he performed. The manner in which he took off his watch and placed it on the nightstand. The breath of relief he exhaled as he settled onto the mattress. Every part of it seemed like a custom l had been absent from, for ages.

“Is Noah actually asleep?” he murmured, peeking towards the door.

A sense of relief appeared on his face with a smile. Then he grasped my waist. I allowed him to draw me close until my head lay against his chest.

His heartbeat was slow and steady, strangely calming.

“Comfortable?” he whispered close to my ear.

“Extremely.” I replied truthfully.

His hand traced my back slowly without any rhythm or haste, a quiet, comfort that I was not, by myself. That there was someone embracing me softly and willingly.

He murmured, “I enjoy this.”

“What kind?” I inquired, raising my head a bit.

“This. Holding you close. Having the chance to ensure you’re safe.”

I pressed my lip attempting to restrain a smile. “I’m fine, Liam. Really.”He tilted his chin down to briefly press on the crown of my head. “‘ll always guarantee that.”

I took a breath out, shutting my eyes. It seemed as if my body dissolved into a warmth I had long forgotten.

My hand shifted, gently holding the edge of his shirt as a reminder that he was real that he was present.

“Liam?” I murmured.

“Yes?”

“Goodnight.”

He placed a kiss upon my forehead.

“Goodnight, Sienna.”
