Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 267

Sienna’s POV

Liam stepped closer, placing a hand on Noah’s shoulder, his gaze full of pride. “You did great today.”

Noah smiled shyly, then looked at Bam, who stood a few steps away from us, clutching his new bag tightly Without hesitation, Noah reached for Bam’s hand and said, “Come on, let’s go in. Together.”

Bam looked at Noah as if he couldn’t quite believe that someone truly wanted to walk beside him. But then a small smile appeared on his face, warm and innocent.

Hand in hand, they walked toward the classroom door.

Something warmed inside my chest, like watching a gentle, hopeful new chapter opening right before my eyes.

Liam and I stood a few steps away from the door, giving them space. I watched the small backs of Noah and Bam walking side by side, their steps not perfectly in sync yet, but close enough to adjust to each other. There was caution there, and courage still warm, like a small ember just lit.

Noah glanced back at me briefly, as if to make sure I was still there. I nodded and smiled, signaling that everything was okay. He returned a quick smile, then turned his attention back to Bam.

“Where do you want to sit?” Noah asked softly.Bam shrugged. “Usually in the corner.”

“Oh.” Noah thought for a moment. “I sit in the middle. But if you want, we can sit together.”

Bam fell silent. His eyes darted around the room, other children already inside, chairs scraping, small bursts of laughter here and there. Then he nodded slightly. “Okay.”

Noah smiled wider. He gently drew Bam a little closer, not forcing him, just making sure they stayed side by side. I could see how carefully Noah was trying not to make anything awkward.

At the classroom door, Bam paused. His hand tightened around the strap of his new bag, as if afraid it might disappear if he let go. Noah noticed and said lightly, “You can wear the bag. It looks nice, right? Green.”

“Yes,” Bam replied softly. “I like it.”

” I picked it,” Noah said with a hint of pride, quickly softening his tone. “Because you like green.”

Bam looked at him, slightly surprised. “You remembered?”

Noah nodded. “You always choose the green crayon.”

A sweet pause settled between them. Not long, but enough to let trust begin to grow. I swallowed, my eyes warming. Sometimes children do very big things in the simplest ways.

Liam stood beside me, his hand brushing lightly againstmy back. “He learns fast,” he said quietly.

I shook my head. “Not learning,” I whispered. “That’s just who he is.”

Inside the classroom, Noah pointed to two adjacent desks.

“These are empty,” he said. He put his bag down first, then helped Bam pull out his chair. His movements were awkward, but his intention was clear. Bam smiled faintly and sat down.

“Thank you,” he said again, this time more clearly.

“You’re welcome,” Noah replied.

I saw Noah take a long breath, his shoulders slowly

We said our goodbyes and turned toward the car. As we walked, I slipped my arm through Liam’s, feeling the warmth of his body beside me.

Today felt full of kindness. The weight in my chest eased not only because my own worries felt lighter, but because my heart had witnessed a children’s world filled with honesty, vulnerability, and courage.

Sometimes happiness is found in the simplest places. Andtoday, I saw it with my own eyes.

When we reached the car, Liam opened the door for me and I got in, my smile still lingering. Once he settled behind the wheel, he turned to me and asked softly, ” Straight to the library?”

I nodded without hesitation? “Yes, let’s go now, while our timing’s good.”

The car pulled away from the school. Through the side window, I caught one last glimpse of Noah and Bam walking into class together. That small scene felt far more precious than anything I could have imagined.

During the drive, I leaned back against the seat, watching the road gradually grow busier, feeling the steady rhythm of the car. “I really hope Noah grows up to be a good person,” I murmured, more to myself than to Liam. “Not just smart or successful. But someone who cares about others. Someone brave enough to choose kindness even when it’s hard.”

Liam glanced at me with a small smile. “Noah is already on the right path. And that’s because of you.”

I shook my head gently. “Because of us,” I corrected.”

We’re the ones teaching him. We’re the ones beside him. I just want him to grow into someone better than we ever were.”

Liam chuckled softly. “Then we’ll make sure he becomes much better.”I nodded, looking ahead. The journey ahead was still long for Noah, for my new book, for our family. But this morning felt like a good sign.

For some reason, my heart felt calmer facing it all.
