Forgotten Wife My Ex-Husband Regrets It After I Left (Clara and Liam) novel Chapter 315

Liam’s POV

“We talked about it back then,” I said. “Over and over. And it always ended the same way.”

She shook her head slowly. “No. Back then, you left without really listening to me.”

I let out a humorless laugh. “I left because I finally listened.”

Silence slipped in between us. Emily studied me, her eyes narrowing slightly, as if searching for a crack. I knew that look was the one that used to make me waver.

“I heard you got married,” she said at last, as if it were casual. “You have a child too.”

My jaw tightened. “That’s none of your business.”

“Is she pretty?” Emily asked quickly. Too quickly.

“That’s enough,” I cut in. “I’m not discussing my family with you.”

Emily smiled, but this time it didn’t reach her eyes.” You’ve always been protective about that. Even back then.”

I restrained myself from reacting. “If you don’t have a clear professional reason to be here, please leave.”She stepped closer again, then stopped right in front of me. “What if my reason is personal?”

I looked at her sharply. “There’s nothing ‘personal’ between us anymore.”

For a split second, her expression cracked. Just for a second but enough for me to see it. Then she straightened her shoulders, masking everything with an easy composure.

“You’ve changed, Liam,” she said softly. “Or maybe you’re just pretending to have changed.”

I opened my mouth to answer to end this once and for all when a sharp vibration cut through the quiet air of the room.

My phone suddenly rang.

Sienna’s name appeared boldly on the screen.

Emily instinctively leaned forward to grab it. “Here, I’ll answer.”

By reflex, I snatched the phone back. In the rush, my finger accidentally pressed the green button.

The ringing stopped.

And Sienna’s soft voice immediately flowed from the speaker.

“Liam? Have you arrived at the hotel yet?”Damn it.

I shot Emily a sharp glare, signaling her not to say a single word. She only looked at me with a mischievous smile, as if this were a new game.

I quickly walked away, stopping near the large window overlooking the city, “Yeah, I’ve arrived,” I replied, keeping my voice as casual as possible. “How about you? is Noah home already?”

“He is,” Sienna answered. Her voice was gentle and calm, as always. “I didn’t cook earlier, so | just bought some food. I hope that’s okay.”
