**Freedom 480**
**Chapter 480**
After sharing a delightful meal with Franklin and Isabella, Maggie made her way back home, her mind still lingering on the laughter and warmth of the evening. The night unfolded quietly, but soon, her phone buzzed with the familiar sound of an incoming call. It was Isabella, but rather than reaching out to Maggie’s mobile, she chose the landline of the Miller household.
Old Mrs. Miller, ever the attentive matriarch, picked up the receiver. Upon hearing Isabella’s cheerful voice on the other end, she chuckled, “Isabella wants to go camping? Well, your mother is free! Tell her to come over tomorrow morning!”
At that moment, Maggie was descending the stairs, her brow furrowing slightly at the unexpected news. The idea of camping sparked a mixture of excitement and apprehension within her. After the conversation ended, Old Mrs. Miller turned to Maggie, her expression serious yet warm. “Maggie, Isabella is your daughter. Building a stronger bond with her is something you should embrace, not resist.”
Meanwhile, not long after Isabella ended her call, Julia picked up her phone to contact Franklin. When she found out that he and Maggie were set to accompany Isabella on her camping adventure the following day, she hesitated, her voice tinged with disappointment. “Franklin, is it possible for you to skip this trip? I was hoping we could spend some time together tomorrow.”
Franklin sighed, his tone apologetic but firm. “I’m really sorry, Julia. I’ve already given my word to Isabella. I can’t just back out now.”
He pondered for a moment, reflecting on the day before when he and Isabella had spent time with Maggie. Did Isabella genuinely want to see Maggie so desperately? And was it truly her idea to have Maggie join them on this camping trip, or was he merely going along with the plan?
Julia held her thoughts in check, not wanting to express her feelings of frustration. After a brief silence, she finally replied, “That’s fine. We can plan for another time.”
The following morning arrived with a crispness in the air, and when Isabella stepped into the Miller family home, Maggie felt a sudden jolt of surprise as she caught sight of Franklin again. It was astonishing to see him two days in a row; she hadn’t anticipated his presence, and it stirred a flurry of emotions within her.
Yet, with Old Mrs. Miller having already given her blessing for Isabella’s camping escapade, Maggie felt compelled to join in. She climbed into the car, her heart fluttering with a mix of excitement and uncertainty.
