Chapter 505
In truth, she was not asking for that money for herself.
She was asking for Isabella.
When Isabella grew older, Maggie planned to give her everything Franklin had given her, both money and gifts. With these things, Isabella
would have more confidence and more choices no matter what she faced in the future.
A few days later, Maggie suddenly received a call from Franklin’s lawyer. She was not sure whether Franklin had returned to the United States yet, but the lawyer told her that the three–hundred–billion contract was already drafted. He wanted to send it over for her to review in advance,
so they could discuss any issues early.
Hearing that, Maggie expected the agreement to contain many terms.
After all, Franklin was paying three hundred billion.
With an amount that large, she would understand if he added some conditions.
But the document Franklin’s lawyer sent was surprisingly short. Franklin had only one request: she could not file for divorce within the next six
months.
And this was a condition he made in consideration of the possibility that unforeseen circumstances might delay the divorce again.
After reading through the agreement and confirming there were no problems, Maggie signed it without hesitation.
Not long after she signed it, the money Franklin promised began arriving in her account in batches.
The following afternoon, when Maggie went to Wilson Group, she saw Franklin downstairs talking to someone about work. When he saw her and Mr. Claremont’s group, Franklin politely nodded at her and the others, then continued his conversation.
Only then did Maggie realize he had already returned.
That evening, Isabella called to chat. Maggie asked, “When did your father get back?”
“Today. Daddy called me right after he came home at noon.” Isabella paused, then asked, “Mommy, why?”
“Nothing.”
After ending the call, Maggie sent Franklin a message.
“I am available anytime these days,”
Franklin replied an hour or two later.
“Alright.”
He said nothing more.
News of Franklin’s return spread quickly among the Green family and Brown family. They also knew Maggie and Franklin had already contacted
each other.
They could not help asking Julia, “So? Did Franklin say when he will go to the Civil Center to continue the divorce process with Maggie?”
Julia shook her head. “He did not mention it.”
Von WHO Yes Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time
Her words made everyone fall silent for a moment.
Tracy forced an awkward smile and said, “It is fine if Franklin did not mention it. In the past, when he contacted Maggie to handle the divorce, he also did not tell you right away. Maybe he just wants to surprise you.”
Sophia believed Franklin deeply loved Julia, yet even she could not help echoing, “Yes, exactly.”
