Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time (by Zora Pradeep) novel Chapter 556

Franklin’s gaze also landed on Glen and Maggie’s hands. Ife held his coffee cup, smiling as he took a sip, but said nothing.

Levi thought.

Franklin had never had feelings for Maggie, and with their divorce coming up, it made sense he wouldn’t care about Maggie getting close to other men.

Still, Levi hadn’t expected Maggie to be so popular now. Besides Johnny, she apparently had other highquality suitors too.

Things were tense between Maggie and Julia, so when Glen first saw that Franklin was the one handling negotiations, he’d assumed communication between Maggie and Franklin would be awkward. But he quickly realized they were getting along just fine.

In fact, Franklin’s attitude toward Maggie was quite warm. Sometimes when Glen forgot to refill Maggie’s water, Franklin would casually top it off for her.

His manner suggested the unpleasantness between Julia and Maggie was ancient history.

But the last few times they’d crossed paths, Maggie and Julia had completely ignored each other, like there was some deep grudge h

them. It didn’t look like any rift had been mended.

Then again, they were all adults. Whether Franklin or Maggie, they probably just kept business and personal matters separate.

It wasn’t until after five in the afternoon that their discussion finally wrapped up.

Franklin checked his watch and looked at Maggie. It’s almost dinner time. Want to grab something to eat?

Maggie didn’t see the point. She stood up. I have other plans. Maybe next time. I’ll continue discussing the collaboration details with Mr. Erickson going forward.

Sounds good.

They politely shook hands again before Maggie and Glen turned to leave.

Levi had been stuck playing the silent third wheel all afternoon, bored out of his mind playing games on his phone.

Once Maggie left, he finally put his phone away. Watching the direction she’d gone, something occurred to him. By the way, didn’t you guys decide not to get divorced for now? Is there a time limit on this whole not for nowthing?

Franklin picked up his glass and took a sip of water. No.

Huh? You didn’t set a timeline?

Franklin set down his glass and stood up. Nope.

So if you two just keep dragging this out, how long is that going to last?

If they dragged it out three, five, seven, eight years, would Julia be okay with that?

Franklin actually smiled. We won’t drag it out indefinitely, don’t worry about that.

Levi figured as much.

Seeing Franklin seemed to have it figured out, assuming he’d already set some kind of internal deadline, Levi didn’t press further.

Meanwhile, when Julia got home from her outing with Isabella, her family asked how the past couple days had gone.

Learning that Franklin had never shown up, the Browns and Greens weren’t too disappointed.

Lauren said, The fact that Franklin still lets you spend time alone with Isabella means he trusts you and isn’t planning to break up with you. That’s actually a good sign.
