Chapter 467
Chapter 264: Watch Your Back
Savannah
“What are you doing here?”
My chest rose and fell erratically as the words left my mouth, lungs still burning from the run–from the rose garden, through the halls, past the staring servants and the guards who hadn’t even tried to stop me. My pulse throbbed in my ears, drowning out everything except
the sight before me.
Randall, standing beside Roman’s bed like he actually belonged there. Like he actually still had the right to be anywhere near Roman after
the shit he pulled.
He turned slowly, calm as ever, one perfectly groomed brow lifting in mild amusement. “Visiting my brother,” he replied smoothly. “What
does it look like I’m doing?”
I clenched my fists so tightly my nails bit into my palms.
I turned sharply to Ramsey and Rosalie just as Reese and River rushed in behind me, breathless, faces tight with urgency. “I told you to
call me, didn’t I?” I snapped at Ramsey.
The words came out harsher than I meant them to—but I didn’t take them back. I wasn’t feeling nice enough to.
Ramsey paled instantly. “I’m sorry, ma’am,” he said, bowing his head. “But it was just our brother, Randall, I didn’t think it’d be a problem
“Oh, is it?” Randall cut in pleasantly, sliding his hands into his pockets. He shrugged, like this was all a mild inconvenience. “If my presence here has suddenly become a problem, then perhaps I should leave,”
My stomach twisted.
“Why should you leave?” Rosalie snapped, stepping forward with fire in her eyes. “You’re his brother. You have every right to be here.” Her gaze flicked to me, sharp and dismissive. “More right than her.”
Something inside me snapped,
I laughed–short, incredulous. “Last time I checked, Roman chose to be with me.” I stepped closer, refusing to shrink. “We’ve been together for years. I can’t say the same for you, Rosalle.”
Her lips parted in outrage.

“Roman never whispered your name once in the five years I’ve known him,” I continued coldly. “Yet here you are, staking claims you don’t have. So much for loving siblings.” I tilted my head. “What do we call this sort of stunt again?”
A pause.
“Oh–disgraceful.”
The room froze. Rosalie gasped as though I’d slapped her across the face. Ramsey’s jaw dropped in stunned silence. Reese sucked in a sharp breath.
Randall? He smiled. A slow, entertained smirk, like I was a show he’d paid good money to watch.
“How dare you, you-” Rosalie shrieked, lunging at me.
Randall caught her effortlessly, arms locking around her as she thrashed. “That’s enough, Rosie,” he said calmly. “Go get ready for dinner.”
“Let me go!” she screamed. “You should’ve let me teach her a lesson!”
“Leave,” he snapped, the mask cracking for just a second. “You’ve embarrassed yourself enough.”
She tore free from his grip, chest heaving. As she stormed past me, she deliberately brushed my shoulder hard and leaned in just long
enough to whisper venomously.
“This isn’t over. Watch your back.”
I didn’t flinch. Instead, I smiled. “Don’t ever threaten me again, Rosalie,” I said softly. “You cannot bully me.”
Reese burst out laughing.
Randall’s smile widened.
“Get out of my way!” Rosalie screeched, shoving Reese and River aside as she fled.
“Rosie! Wait!” Ramsey called, running after her. He paused briefly, turning back to me, guilt etched across his face. “I’m so sorry, ma’am,
This is all my fault. I should have called you. Please don’t be angry with me.”
“I’m not,” I said quietly.
The door barely had time to close before Randall spoke again.
“I’ll leave too,” he announced lightly. “I’m clearly not wanted here. Nor welcomed-”
“You’ve been watching Roman.” The words came out of me without even knowing it.

Randall didn’t stop walking. He didn’t even slow.
I stepped forward. “You’ve been watching him, haven’t you?”
Still nothing.
Reese moved faster, blocking the door with his body. “Bro, she just asked you a question,” he said coldly. “I heard it. River did. And I
believe you heard it too.”
